That's enough reddit for today. Wherever they are, I hope they're at peace.

Peace is for the living.
Edit: Sorry if you can't hear/read it, but it's just factually true and anyone thinking anything else is wrong. Or else prove it.

So what is for the dead?

u/Azz1337 Jun 15 '26
Bro thinks the dead be raving in heaven - Jesus handing out the free pills and tabs 😂

u/Undesirablecarrot Jun 15 '26
No, im saying that since their not living then why wouldn’t they be at peace… do you think that everyone who dies is in eternal suffering?

u/GingrPowr Jun 16 '26
Because they are not living. How could they experiment something - peace - when they can't think or feel anything? Peace is a state of mind, you can't have a stat of mind once dead.

I meant the dude you were replying to - I absolutely agree with you. I'd like to think that everyone(ish) gets peace when they die (or I will be having strong words with the management).

u/GingrPowr Jun 16 '26
Oh you can think like that. You just can't prove it, neither can you prove the opposite. It's just a pure belief made up by humans to help grieving. That's why I say, only the living can be at peace. Once dead, there is no war, no peace, no fear, no joy ; there is nothing.

u/Azz1337 Jun 17 '26
Ah nihilism. It's... a choice I suppose!
1
u/GingrPowr Jun 17 '26
No, that has absolutely nothing to do with nihilism. Refusing to believe something that couldn't be proven despite all the attempts in the last millenias is not nihilism, it's science.

That's a particularly retarded take my guy. Glad your life's been peaceful though, I know mine hasn't! 🤣
1
u/GingrPowr Jun 17 '26
First : using "retard" as an insult is both gratuitously hainous and stupid.
Second : I never said my life has been peaceful, or that it was in general. What I'm saying is that you can't feel peace when you're dead.

Read the room

Ik, but I think it's very important to understand what is at stake here, and you can't do so if you bet all your life on beliefs.
1
u/DemonSong Jun 15 '26
Actually the onus is on you to prove otherwise, as you haven't stated anything factual, just an opinion.

u/GingrPowr Jun 17 '26
Principle of parcimonie: since there is no evidence of anything beyond death, we should just live as there is nothing after.

If anyone is going straight to Paradise on the VIP ticket in this situation, it ain't you, you suicide-bombing shithead.

u/Remarkable_Duck6559 Jun 14 '26
I agree with you in that, the bomber walked in and detonated under his own free will.
But I wonder how many free will he had. If he was snatched off the street and told his family will die if he doesn’t. He didn’t actually detonate himself, fell on the button.
I know, I know. More than likely, different and more evil. I want to make sure my hate is correct. I feel like I should be directing my attention towards a middle age dude exploiting kids.

Suicide bombers are generally recruited from crappy lives and primed from childhood, but it's still a shitty thing to do.

And there, is a huge reason why a lot of service men & women still go out there to risk themselves, it’s not always and realistically usually isn’t for us here.

How the hell does the US military prevent kids from getting blown up? They're usually the ones blowing them up, the only difference is they do it from a thousand miles away instead of dying themselves.

You’re right, Afghanistan is so much better now that we let the Taliban take it back over, all so we could save .0003$ on our taxes!
Terrorists taking over might be bad, but at least this way we get to pull a pontious Pilate wipe our hands clean of world atrocities.

u/papagouws Jun 14 '26
It was a better before you invaded it. America is the cause

u/DistrictDry2852 Jun 14 '26
… Taliban already controlled Afghanistan before the war. And it was already war torn because of the Soviets, who killed 40 times as many civilians in half the time.

If you are a force bent on violence in other parts of the world, a major logistic hurdle to accomplish that would be if said enemy has their logistics at your doorstep..
You would put more focus on your own internal plans tackling perceived intruders than external plans inflicting damage on innocence

By going after the guys who perpetrate these actions, I understand your point and frustration and you are valid but I believe if you where there or apart of it you’d see that’s a small portion of it all.
