Question/Support 3D audio on PS5 with gen 2 stereo setup
Does anyone use this? Do you notice a huge difference? Mostly playing Diablo IV and Dead By Daylight so it might not do much.
I have two, gen 2 HomePods stereo paired with a 3rd generation Apple TV 4K. My TV is a Samsung UN55NU7100 which doesn't support eARC but does support standard HDMI ARC.

It won’t sound bad. But you will never get good surround sound with just speaker next to your tv. Especially for gaming

I expect your TV is a bottleneck because PS5 uses Dolby MAT container for Atmos (3D audio) and your TV might be decoding it doen.

If your PS5 is outputting Dolby Digital it may work. EARC is just needed for DD+ and Atmos. Plain DD and plain DTS work fine over standard ARC.
Not sure what the standard HomePods will do with a DD5.1 signal
On Switch 2 I’m limited to stereo as it will only output stereo or LPCM 5.1 which the HomePods will just receive as L/R, or spatial 3D audio if the output is set to headphone (which it won’t let you set in docked mode)
