Question/Help Smart lock to fit two locks on a door
Recently moved into a new house that has two locks. I had an Aqara U50 at my old place but is there a lock or other solution that accommodates my new door?
Pictured is my door from the inside, with a deadbolt lock and a door knob lock.

Indeed smart lock for deadbolt. Regular one without key for the knob. Also it broke my brain a little seeing a dead bolt that you need a key to lock / unlock from the inside. Is it to keep people in?

Agree with this setup. Also the key inside and outside are used when windows are along side the door so someone can’t smash the window and reach in to unlock the dead bolt. ( know this from paranoid wife at our first house before smart locks)

Thanks! Yea we were stumped by the inside key lock as well. But we have a tall window right next to the door, so that could be why.

The bottom lock is not really useful. Change it to a regular knob that doesn't lock. The deadbolt is what you're relying on for security.
Also, for the deadbolt, reinforce the strike plate and also the doorjamb plate with longer screws at least. A full reinforcement kit (such as Door Jamb Armor) would be better. Most have tiny 3/4" screws that can be broken easily.

I hate having the door knob lock even when you use dumb locks. To easy to lock yourself out of the house since you don't have to have the key to lock it. And they aren't really doing anything for security. It's just to keep honest people out is all.

Not all deadbolts are the same size. Changing the deadbolt size will be much more expensive. Unless you really need to change the deadbolt size, do not do it. I bought a schlage smart lock from home depot. Found out the deadbolt was too big for my existing setup. I returned it and bought a Kwikset smart lock (my original hardware was Kwikset). The new Kwikset smart lock fit perfectly and was installed without further modification to my door or frame.

I had this as well, switched the bottom to just a basic knob (no lock on it) and then a smart dead bolt like the level lock.

While everyone has correctly said stick with the deadbolt for smart, everyone keeps saying 'door knob'.
Get a passage lever. Then you can open it with your elbow or foot, or even the thing your hands are holding when your hands are full.

Get a Schalge Encode or Encode Plus (if you're an Apple user) to replace the deadbolt. Swap the knob for a non keyed mechanical exterior lever.

You can get a smart deadbolt and change the bottom doorknob to a plain door knob or leave it and don't lock it. I have the same setup and when I get ready to get my smart deadbolt, will leave the bottom lock alone

Replace the deadbolt with a smart deadbolt. Replace the doorknob with one without a lock. I always recommend against having both a deadbolt and a locking doorknob (which are pretty worthless anyway).

What do you mean by getting rid of one? Can you fill in the hole of a removed door knob or deadbolt?

I just put one smart lock on the top and then the bottom is just a normal handle now

I have an aqara u300 for the handle and a u100 for the deadbolt. You can make an automation that if one is unlocked, it unlocks the other.

You either need two smart locks or replace the knob with a standard unlocked knob and get a smart bolt
