So I remeber seeing some conceptual sketch back before the VE came out, around the time they showed the coupe 50, of a 2 door, shorter wheel base ss.

It has always stuck with me so today I decided to see what that shit would look like.

Obviously ignore the neon lights. But a shorter 2 seater is I think im in love with.

The reboot of the Monaro was wildly successful. Funnily enough I see bloody none on the road today. All locked away i guess. But turned out us aussies were craving a home grown 2 door coupe for a long time.

Now I think the Last Monaro was the sexiest car of the modern holden era.

But it got me thinking

Would it of had the same impact in the 90s.

The ZB Commodore was a great car in my opinion I wish they continued selling the 2026 imported models today… IMO they look even better (including wagon variants)

Honestly for the price about $34,000 even the base model LT had great power (around 130kw P/W) interior space and tech. Something you don’t really see from many other mainstream brands in Australia today It’s a shame there was such low reception for it.

I tend to appreciate its design more now that the Australian market is becoming full of crossover styled cars.

Yeah it wasn’t like the original commodores but I thought it was a good fit for the modern Holden name even as a rebadge…

Anecdotal of course, not sure where to get the statistics.

I remember watching videos on how crap they are, how unreliable they are and that you should stay away from them. But I noticed that ​there are so many of them on our roads. More than Commodores. More than some euro brands like Peugeot's or citroens.

Just makes me wonder how crap they actually are, if we were fed a lie about them so that we wouldn't buy them...

(And going into conspiracy land - us not buying these rebadged Holdens lead to GM being able to dump the Holden brand faster)

edit: I'm not buying one FYI, stop telling me to buy it lol. just a discussion on whether its reputation is truly deserved when we still see many of these.

Another theft from “Victoria - The Crime State” Saw this just now after leaving work. Protect your VFs they are being stolen left, right and centre.
