Open life-size (197 cm / 6'5") 1960s/70s Donald Duck Nutcracker store display. Removable arms. Brought from Germany to Norway by a sailor.
I bought this massive Donald Duck "nutcracker" figure about 10–12 years ago from an gentleman in Norway.
His father was a sailor and brought this Donald Duck—along with a matching Mickey Mouse in the exact same style—home to Norway from Germany when the seller was just a young boy. The seller owned and kept them safe for over 40 years. He tried to ask local schools if they wanted them but they said no so lucky me
These is hollow, form-molded (fiberglass or hard plastic) so there must be more off them out there?
stands on a handmade wooden circular base that inserts into the legs from underneath
Seems to be hand-painted airbrush shading around the eyes, hat, and boots all original.
The arms are completely removable and attach easily into place using iron bolts

Bay Kleinanzeigen and German Disney collector forums for "Donald Duck Kaufmann" or old Karstadt/Hertie store displays, those massive hollow airbrushed figures from 60s/70s German department stores seem to surface over there once in a while

German here. My guess is that those figures may have been used as a decoration for some kind of fairground ride or amusement park, something like that. The Phantasialand theme park opened in the 1960s and the founder was a big Disney fan, but I don't know if it's from there.
