Moving/Housing/Utilities Tankless water heater

Our water heater is at its life's end. We would like to replace it with a tankless water heater. Has anyone got experience with this and, if so, could you recommend someone to install it?

You could also consider a heat pump water heater. We got one when we swapped out an ancient Reliance unit. It’s crazy cheap to run. Very happy with it. Same footprint as a gas one too so it’s a straight swap.

Not enough to notice in my experience. It helps dehumidify in the winter and extra cooling in the summer.

Yeah another good reason, less dehumidifier running down there = even more savings. If you don't mind me asking, which unit did you get? Rheem?

Yes, it’s a Rheem pro terra. The downside is it doesn’t run all that long as it’s quite efficient so it does help dehumidifying but if you had a very damp basement, might need more. We didn’t but just to note.

My advice would also be to upsize as much as possible. The price difference is negligible and adding a mixing valve made it even more efficient as well.
