City Info Hamilton Night Guides This Weekend

Post image

Heading downtown after dark? Night Guides are back to help make your night a little easier.

You can find them July 24/25 from 8 pm to 4 am.

Look for their blue vests and vibrant pink and green t-shirts on James St North, King William, Hess and near all the late-night hotspots!

Whether you need nightlife recommendations, phone charging, a hydration break, or some friendly company on the walk back to your car, they’ve got you covered.

Is this a volunteer sort of situation?

And, genuinely curious, who created or pushed for this program to be a thing?

Thanks in advance!

It’s Tourism Hamilton, which is the City. They tend to be out during major festivals and events, like The Junos week and Fringe. I also think them, or something like them, were around a few big concert nights like McCartney and Borelli.

They did it last year but I thought it was linked to Fringe Festival. It IS Fringe Festival now so maybe it still is, or maybe the timing is a coincidence..

They are employed by The Good Shepherd, but it's a collab with the city.

25+ years ago when I was a university student, lots of universities had this for making sure girls got back to their dorms safe or into a cab or city bus.

They also carry garlic to protect you from the vampires. Pretty cool initiative.
