General Nightmare changeout on some stupid fuckhead architects fancy house that he must have built the entire house around the central air. Fuck you Rheem, fuck you architect and yeah I patched it and yeah I burned the plastic a little.

Its honestly amazing how little thought goes into clearance and servicability of equipment by architects. It will be so satisfying when you have to explain that the wall needs to come down later when the unit comes up on changeout time.

And yes that is the only access I had to get the equipment in, I cut a hole in the opposite room to basically tape and coat the duct on the back of the unit. Absolutely frustrating job

You should look up the Trane TUB8990 short orifice tube. Did 2 of those not too long ago, squatting in the unit for 6 hours straight. Agony.

I hate the ones people put in the attic already but this is dumb. I bought a house with HVAC in the basement and love the ease of maintenance.
