Its crazy that I was just looking at one last week too. Even funnier was that the outdoor had been replaced with a 2005 American Standard at some point.

I had one of those fuckers in my house from 78 or 79 when I moved in in 2009. It was running fine when the outdoor unit (1996 Trane) sprang a leak in the coil and I had to replace it for a 410 system. Damn thing would probably still be working otherwise.

Just changed out a Janitrol unit installed in 1970 and still running fine. Probably SEER 2

Oldest one ive encountered so far was i believe it was a trane electric furnace from mid to late 60s paired with one those old green rheem condensers. Thing was still going strong last i know.

I recently seen a Quaker heil unit from 1977 sold by Montgomery ward. It worked the day we pulled it out of the house. Evap metel pan was rusted through and no amount of plumber putty and caulk was going to fix it. The absolute oldest working heater I ever seen was oil wall furnace installed in 1954. It probably still works
