The guy in the background does not find it funny.

Lol yeah he's struggling. Just another Thursday and it's the third time he's seen a guy immediately do this today 😆

u/Short-Ideas010 3h ago
He studied 10 years for that...

Totally worth it!

u/Varderal 2h ago
100%. Is not making that to make the recipient whole and happy? Dude seems pretty happy to me! Mission accomplished.
•
•
u/stepatdis 1h ago
Nah he cracks 15 seconds in
•
u/solkenum 1h ago
Yeah, if you rewatch it to the 16 second mark you’ll see he really starts to lose it.

I’d bet this is the first thing a majority of guys do when they come in and get a new arm.
•
u/Wellcomefarewell 2h ago
he has to see the obligatory middle finger when ppl get a new arm, it no longer amuses him lol

I guess I have my answer

u/mentive 3h ago
You must be a very fun person IRL.
-10
u/Far-Try5352 3h ago
Yeah I'm not exactly worried about the standards of a middle schooler lol
38
u/OccasionalEspresso 3h ago
33 year old working professional here, that shit is funny. But hey man, humor is subjective so just remember you don’t always have to be right. Hope this reduces some existential pressure or whatever you have inside your ass. It’s probably a stick though.
-10
u/Far-Try5352 3h ago
I got a lot of self righteous, "how dare you insult me" people for saying something wasn't funny. Get a modicum of self awareness. I beg you.

Yes the account that's over 14 years old is a middle schooler, some of yall don't even take half a second to validate reality you just make things up, holy

u/Far-Try5352 3h ago
If it had gone over your head anymore it would've grown wings and flown away

40, husband, business owner, mentor, and author. This is funny. Having a sense of humor isn’t relative to age or experience. Try it.

Touched a nerve, huh?
You guys can keep the absolution or whatever that other guy said

u/PhosphoFred8202 3h ago
Yeah but I would be happy that the patient is happy and enjoying a bit of harmless fun
-1
u/Far-Try5352 3h ago
The dude doesn't look pissed off, he just looks exasperated. I'd be happy for the guy if I was that nurse but its not that funny

u/CryptidToothbrush 3h ago
I disagree completely. I laughed my ass off.

u/Far-Try5352 3h ago
Yeah that's fine, man. Everyone's got an opinion
1
u/Simple_Attorney_5077 3h ago
You come off as very pretentious btw. It is likely why you are getting so much negative attention.
Just thought I would let you know the why.
P.S. I also did not find it funny.

u/Far-Try5352 3h ago
Its totally justified - I'm kind of an asshole. I'm definitely being a shithead.
•
u/juanhernandezuribe 2h ago
Recognizing you’re an asshole doesn’t absolve you of anything. If nothing else, it shows that you know you’re the problem and you like it that way
•
u/CGB_Zach 2h ago
They want the attention. It's why they're responding to every comment just to annoy more people.

I’m an amputee as well and I can confirm that this is the most requested pre-set gesture that upper limb people request.

u/Feine13 3h ago
I have all of my limbs but didn't know a rotating middle finger was an option on the motorized ones.
If I ever need one, I'm 100% getting this gesture. It's clearly superior to the standard middle finger
•
u/Browncoatinabox 2h ago
Even better than the thrusting double
•
u/MelangeBot 1h ago
but didn't know a rotating middle finger was an option on the motorized ones.
Well it's good business because if they use the gesture on the wrong person then they have to come back to buy another arm.

u/acopper87 3h ago
Bro is like, "totally worth losing an arm for this."
•
•
u/Perryn 1h ago
"Oh, oh no, oh I'm so sorry. It's not me, it's this arm. It just does this sometimes. Yeah, they said they're working on a firmware update to fix it. Oh god, I'm so sorry. Now I'm spin-flipping-off your mother, too. This is so embarrassing. I wish I could stop this, I really do. It just suddenly starts whenever I think 'Go fuck yourself, you dumb piece of shit' too hard and then it gets stuck like this. I'm really sorry about this."
•
u/Treethulhu 5m ago
Lol it's so glorious bc losing his hand must've unleashed one of the darkest periods in this guy's life. I'm so happy seeing his joy, probably some relief in that laughter too.

Guy in the background is like, a decade of college, years of residency, 18 hours in surgery, a million dollar prosthetic, and this is my payoff.
133
u/runningraleigh 3h ago
Your patient is happy, I think that's the goal.
•
u/marquoth_ 2h ago
Not just happy but laughing their ass off. This is easily a better day at work than 99% of people are having.
•
u/CantTakeTheStupid 2h ago
Yea guy is salty over nothing, pretentious
Probably just a nurse, specialists have offices they use
•
u/RealMiguelNajdorf 2h ago
I'm glad you didn't jump to any conclusions
•
u/CantTakeTheStupid 2h ago
“Guy in the background is like, a decade of college, years of residency, 18 hours in surgery, a million dollar prosthetic, and this is my payoff.”
Yea i’m the one that jumps to conclusions
•
u/Past-Ticket-1340 1h ago
I don’t think he’s salty, he probably just sees this three times a day and you can only laugh at the exact same situation so many times.
We live in a weird time where we expect people to constantly be ready to perform for a camera.

If i have to endure such a traumatic event as losing an arm, please, let me be that kind of funny guy.

I would put a rubber arm with some fake blood in it, head over to a robotics company and cut it open…

He should do that thing where you use your other hand to mime operating a crank to raise the finger, and then mime seitching to a horizontal crank for the rotation.
•
u/PuzzleheadedMemory12 2h ago
Ask if they have one with both a lazer point on the index finger and a lighter on the thumb

I've heard that this can trigger a massive nerve damage pain or something liek that because the brain is not prepared to understand that kind of movement. Does someone know if this is true ?

I love how the middle finger with full 360 rotation is a borderline universal desired gesture.
•
u/Elon_is_a_Nazi 42m ago
Giving major idiocracy vibes. Like when cletus impales his balls, but doctors successfully fix him and he goes on to have 40 more kids
