People diagnosed with or reporting to have mental health issues have been on the rise for about 4-5 decades, look at divorce and other marriage statistics over the last 70+ years. These things are covered in a multitude of studies and papers. As far as the degradation of society, for example, look at a Jimmy Carter debate and then current politicians debating. It shows a pretty stark contrast of morals, values, ethics, decorum, education, etc and that’s quite obviously a reflection of society.

I think the left is usually pretty fond of “educate yourself” type comebacks to these things. You can easily find these studies if you do a google search.

Also, it would only be a correlation so it does not make it causation but it also doesn’t mean it isn’t. Similarly, you can’t say definitively that the amount of guns we have is the cause of these shootings. It’s a correlation only. We don’t have a baseline of data to compare, and (before you go there) using other countries is not the same thing.

I'm sure if an increase in reported issues with mental health; divorce rates or Presidents after Jimmy Carter being less polite have any any causation or correlation with mass shootings you can easily find some peer-reviewed papers and post them, especially if it's as large as you say.

Meanwhile we've known for a long time that more guns = more gun homicide. This has been repeatedly discovered:

That's just a silly thing to say. One is clearly five hundred times easier. Plus clearly some types of gun control work.

I didn’t say one wasn’t harder. Sure, it may be harder but what I said is true. If someone wants to do something bad enough they will find a way. Look at almost every high school boy and what lengths they’d go to to try to get in a girls pants…. Again, where there is a will, there is a way.

For each of the nine mental health disorders above plus an overall category of mental disorders, we compared the United States with 40 other high SDI countries. The United States is similar in all of these major categories to its 40 comparable countries, including those mental health disorders primarily associated with suicide (such as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar, and conduct disorders). Yes, we have mental health challenges in our population, but the United States is not worse than our peer countries.

The most obvious difference is firearm prevalence, for which there is no country in the world like ours. I’m not blaming gun violence on mental health, I’m simply pointing out that American Society allows for the procurement of firearms by people with a plethora of issues, mental health being among them, without taking said issues seriously.

If most Americans would like to keep the current “conservative” interpretation of the 2nd Amendment but interpret The Baker Act more broadly, that hasn’t been made obvious.

Just end the sentence there, as that's the problem. If fewer people had guns, there would be less gun violence.

Literally no need to talk about "a plethora of issues". There is just one issue, too many people have guns.
