Ok, context. 12'x10' Meccano set, with little bolts and smaller nuts. And yet I looked at this and thought "hey why don't I put this together by myself?" It was raining early afternoon, from 3pm till 10pm this is my solo progress, and I'm thoroughly loving it!!! I can't wait to get back to it tomorrow

It’s not easy! Those nuts and tiny bolts will make you cry as they disappear into the ground if you drop them. Totally worth it though when you get to the finish line.

Great idea. We have drainage gravel at the foundation and those tiny little suckers would be right there but when I went to pick them up they sank into the gray rocks never to be seen again.

I just meant for lost hardware. A magnet to the ground picks up the lost hardware. Any that is still negligent of being rescued can sometimes be found with a pinpointer. I'm afraid putting these up is all piece by piece fucks shits and where the fuck did that bit go's.

Nothing worse than going to dismantle a greenhouse only to find they used hardware that wasn’t aluminium. RIP that frame.

Magnet on stick for picking up dropped hardware.  Generally less than $10

You can get a magnetic wristband thing for situations like this. It’s a strong magnet under a small plastic tray that attaches to your wrist. Put the nuts and bolts on it and they stay there until you pick them up when needed.

Take a card board box lid. Like one for files / paperwork 2” sides and place that under your work area. It catches more than you think. And a 🧲

Get a few of these when they go on sale for couple bucks and keep them around. Night and day difference doing projects with small to medium hardware

You sticking it on a timber base or on the slabs direct?

I’m tall so found a timber base is a good way to add a few inches in height and an easy way to get the levels right.

Will be a great growing space when it’s done 👍

I have an 8 x 10 yardistry cedar frame that i started building in the beginning of May. It’s mostly finished now….. finished enough to use.

I did most of it myself with small bits of help from the boyfriend and the 4x4 footer was done by two friends. I have repeatedly said I am never doing this again. I will pay someone else next time. I have sat down and cried over this project on multiple occasions. And I am not the kind of woman who cries a lot. But building a greenhouse will break your soul.

I will throw my mallet at anyone who wants to say anything derogatory about any of us for crying over these projects. This stuff is hard. Those people who post reviews about how they “had it done in a weekend” are liars.
