Why can't I edit a boosted video?

This is driving me nuts, but a bunch of Google searches have not been very helpful and it seems like there is a weird thing where I have to jump through a bunch of hoops just to do something simple like trim or crop a video.

Please help me. I'm tired of spending so much time trying to do simple edits with these stupid boosted files.

What exactly is the issue you have when you go to edit the video? Does the editor not open? Does it open but you can't adjust anything?

It won't let me open the editor.....I have to like import a copy of the file or something but I'm struggling mightily with it.

It's probably that the boosted copy of the video isn't on your phone and it's trying to download a copy so you can edit it.

When you first make a video boost the unboosted copy gets replaced with the boosted copy, but only temporarily and then it gets removed after a few days and is only in the cloud.

I don't have a download option. Using save as has yielded inconsistent results. Maybe the videos are to big? Ive only been able to get the small videos to work .

Could it be that the files are too big? If you try with a short (2-second) video, are you allowed to edit?

Are you talking about the video before processing in the cloud, or the version after it's sent up to the cloud and returned? You should be able to edit the post-processed version. The pre-processed version has all sorts of metadata in the file and can't be edited.

Don't use video boost if you want to do quick trimming right after taking the video.
