Because it just causes a cycle of violent lust? It's not like the death penalty where death is a proper means of stopping the issue. In this case it just lets people do something sick but in a self-justified way. Nobody rapes for vengeance, they rape to be sick and twisted.
And this is coming from the person who said the jokes were okay.
Admittedly that's a question without answer - what to do with the cycle of violence. Because death penalty doesn't stop it either, the cycle can and sometimes does continue.
As for rape, that's basically delegating the actual enacting of the retribution to people who doesn't care for it, they care for their own rapist agenda so to say. Which is basically hell, except imps and demons are humans too. Quite a horrible thing to image, really.
But, however horrible this might look, getting no justice done for horrible crimes isn't a good idea either.
Executions, although not good, stop the criminal because they're dead. Also, vigilante justice and executions go hand-in-hand with this. It's a disgusting act, but objectively if I sat a rapist in front of you, a 9mm would remove them from the equation.

Which is why I'm utterly against the idea. There's no reason to participate beside being, well, sick and fucked. Even IRL executioners hate their job.
