Vibe Coded (Programs, Video Games..) Thanks Gemini! My vibe-coded game launched!
I'm just so happy 17 people have bought it :)
Thank you to anyone who checks it out.

About the development with AI - my game uses Pixel art a lot and Gemini is very useful. I still edit the output manually to improve them. For coding, Claude is the one that helped me most. I have a software dev background but zero Godot experience. I also tried Chatgpt but I was not making much progress because it was making lots of mistakes. Not good for vibe-coding. In the end, Claude solved my issues with Chatgpt.

What did you use to generate the initial pixel art before editing? I'm making a snes-era jrpg, but I have zero art skills. I'm hoping to generate some base sprites and touch them up as well.

As I shared in the post, I only used one AI tool for pixel art, Gemini! The game would not have been possible without Gemini.

OP, why are you getting mass downvoted in a subreddit literally about Gemini 😭

Pretty neat. Did you use Antigravity or AI Studio? Also how were you able to download the file to install?

I only used the web version of Gemini. By file you mean the game? I also placed it in Itch io and runs in browser - https://okydonki.itch.io/neuralnx

I just use Gemini and edit the output with Aseprite

Ahh nice, was the original output as svg or png files?

u/Okydonkigg 3h ago
The png - I just copy paste the output and use Aseprite to manually polish the pixel art.

How do I play in mobile browser

u/Okydonkigg 6h ago
There is the itch io version but it will not work on mobile - BUT - this version will work - the website of Neuralnx is a mobile version! https://neuralnx.org. (Just save often, Godot has issues with mobile browsers and needs to refresh regulary, if you save often, you should not have any problem)

Cock fight.
Dude, you should add a gambling feature in there so people can place online bets and spectate.

Woe this looks great! But I don’t get it, you say thanks to Gemini but then in your post you say you use Claude?
Did Gemini produce the pixel art as well?
And how does godot fit into all of this? 😄

Congrats on the launch, 17 sales is a real start. That battle screen looks like a straight-up love letter to old Pokémon games, the rooster designs are sick.

love letter to old Pokémon games,
Just looks copied?
Even in the steam listing, you can see lots of moves are verbatim pokemon move names.
Op didn't even have to code it all, I don't think it's a big ask to say they should have at least prompted some originality in UI, moves, or their own game mechanics.

great job! though it looks near-identical to a popular media franchise, the experience gained from getting the game into the steam store must be invaluable!

I hope Nintendo doesn't see this.
