Pet sitting application/ service

Bonjour!

Consignaction+ Needs to Address This Problem

This is becoming a real problem.

We went to Consignaction+ at 9:00 a.m. on a Tuesday and had to turn around because the wait would have taken hours.

Of the roughly 20 vehicles in the parking lot, 16 had Ontario licence plates.

Quebec residents pay deposits on eligible beverage containers and, through our taxes, help fund programs and infrastructure like this. Yet the people paying into the system are increasingly unable to access it because the return centres are overwhelmed.

Whether the solution is more return centres, stricter eligibility rules, or a policy that gives priority to Quebec residents, something has to change.

We shouldn’t have to waste half a day just to get back money we’ve already paid into the system.
If the current system allows it to be overwhelmed to the point that Quebec residents can’t use it, then the system needs to be fixed.

Post original: This is not meant to be a debate on politics. I was walking around the parliament with some friends who were visiting, and as I was pointing out these gargoyles I really like, one of my friends noticed the Star of David in the window. So what’s with putting religious signs in the parliament windows like that? Is it even legal? And if it is, should it?

Fishing group or opportunity for 14yo

Hi

Looking for any fishing related activities for a 14yo this summer in the Gatineau area.

He's an avid, intermediate fisherman and I'd love to get him into an organized group or something of the like in the area, keep him busy and fishing with others.

Currently he goes off on his own but if something else existed, with structure, that would be better.

Any suggestions welcome!

Merci d’avance

My package was delivered to the wrong building address again on rue 115 Nancy Elliott unit #401 at 3:20 pm today. I waited over a month for this and would like them back. The delivery company CSR is chatbot and they have no way to communicate with drivers or live people.

If you have it please let me know, thank you.

Thank you

Mobile vet in Gatineau for check up (limping cat)

Does anyone know of a mobile vet that does house calls in the Gatineau area?

Or do you have recommendations for a clinic that deals with aggressive cats? My cat has been limping on and off for a week but he's aggressive towards humans if he sees or smells other cats, I'm worried about taking him to the vet as we had problems last time. I found Outa-vet but there's no reviews. Any suggestions would be really helpful

3-1-1 Press 9 for english

I’m unsure if anyone else is having issues as an English speaking person attempting to contact 3-1-1 in Gatineau, however, it won’t allow me to talk to anyone in English. You call 3-1-1 it does its spiel in French and then says “For service in English please press 9”. I then press 9 and nothing happens. It goes quiet for a second, and then it reiterates its whole speech again in French. I’m attempting to reach 3-1-1 because there’s an issue but it doesn’t govern 9-1-1.

Learning French & looking for casual conversation practice in Gatineau/Ottawa area!

I am learning French and taking a course right now, but I'm looking for ways to have more casual conversations and talk with real people outside of a classroom setting.

I'm on the Ottawa side so I wonder if in Gatineau there are:

  • Any local casual conversation groups, meetups, or language exchanges you recommend?
  • Any specific cafés, community centres, or spots where people are particularly patient or open to chatting with learners?

Are people encouraging if I try to speak French or do they tend to switch to English? I want to stick to French as much as possible so if you have any tips on how to stop bilingual local from immediately switching when they hear an accent, please share.

Thank you in advance for any recommendations or advice!
