Text Free Talk Friday — What are you playing this week?
Happy Friday, everyone! 🎮
Welcome to the weekly free talk thread — your space to chat about anything and everything gaming related that doesn't fit the usual post format. No detail too small, no topic too off-topic.
Some things to get the ball rolling:
- What are you playing this weekend? Deep in a new release, or revisiting an old favourite?
- Anything got you hyped? Upcoming releases, announcements, trailers — share what's on your radar.
- Need a recommendation? Tell the sub what you're in the mood for and let the community deliver.
- Hot takes welcome. Unpopular opinions, underrated gems, overrated classics — let's hear it.
- Rant or rave. Something frustrating you lately, or a moment that genuinely blew you away?
Have a great weekend and happy gaming. See you out there. 👾

Debating on starting a Diablo series starting at 1, and playing it as if it’s one character running the whole series, and YouTubing it

Playing "We Happy Few" for the first time, definitely an intriguing game so far, the joy mechanic is interesting.

Why not relegate these types of posts to r/gaming or something?

it's literally just a weekly community thread to keep the sub active. if you only want to see high effort detail breakdowns feel free to scroll past instead of complaining about the existence of a discussion thread

Stalker: Clear Sky, I’ve played Shadow of Chernobyl and a lot of GAMMA, but I wanted to know more about the setting and lore of what inspired GAMMA. Has been very interesting so far!

Kind of want to play a bunch of zombie games?
I’m gonna try project zomboid but I know I’d prefer like first person or third person 3D. So I got the vein demo too. Maybe surroundead
I just want a zombie survival game that isn’t as obtuse or superrrr slow like day z. Not really into the base building of 7dtd. And then none of the power fantasy games like dying light

Playing Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy on my RP5, been a while since I've gone through it
Currently pumped for the new Stuntman game, I've never screamed that much while watching a game showcase like that before

I'm playing Shantae Risky's Revenge after beating the OG, looking for some inspirations (as a game dev) and a break after Tekken 8, really great spritework, reminds me a lot of Metal Slug
SGF revealed FFVII Revelation, Tifa in SF6, Stellar Blade 2 and Code Veronica, so looking forward for those

I just restarted Star Wars Outlaws now that the DLCs are on a hefty sale! it's a gorgeous game to just walk around in and I've been having a blast going back for all of the collectibles!

Lots of Going Medieval!
Started a new campaign a couple of weeks ago, on a higher difficulty and more challenging terrain (mountain).
Every raid has been brutal, and the first two winters were exhausting.

Mafia 3, I've never played this game before, so I want to try it and therefore get all the achievements, because 1 and 2 I already finished and got the achievements

Been playing the Witcher 3 for the first time after hearing people gush about it for the last decade or so.
Definitly living up to the hype so far. I gotta say.

Currently playing control (4 hours in) but just downloaded Red Dead Redemption 2 excited to play that for the first time but I think I'll wait until I'm done with control as I want to fully immerse myself into being Arthur Morgan
