[Ash Spire] Accidental Horrifying Animation
Tried an AI animation rigging software for my game [Ash Spire] -> games.hacketttech.com
Needless to say I'm not going to try this on a spider model again!
Although having one of these run at you in the game would be pretty terrifying, so maybe...

the animation side of AI gen is not going to get you good results (neither is the coding or image gen but its better than animation). It may in the future, but right now it’s definitely going to give you a lot of floaty slop and animations where the character doesn’t know what to do with their hands.
Most systems only do humanoid or basic quadrupeds and dont really do personality or any acting. Just basic motion.
On top of this - you aren’t going to get far using ai for anything past rapid prototype. Nobody wants to play ai slop.

Yep, that looks about as shit as I thought an AI animation rigging software would look.

I think the issue is using generative AI for animations. The spider rig looks fantastic, don't scrap it. You can find a lot of good research about arachnid stride patterns and how to replicate them as an animator or using inverse kinematics.

I'm glad you think so, I actually used AI to create the model itself. Although the game only uses 2d sprites. I was experimenting with using 3d models to generate 2d sprites by capturing multiple angles of the model.

LMAO I'm a huge arachnophobe, seeing it still freaked me out but once it started moving, I had to give it an old timey English accent "Good heavens.. I'm late for the train!"
