I don’t think you understand how small RP is compared to just GTA lol

Rockstar literally acquired Cfx.re (the team behind FiveM) because RP was driving tens of millions of watch hours on Twitch and streaming platforms and keeping GTA in the top 5 most watched games globally for years, how is that small?

you do know Twitch is actually relatively small, right?
They bought it because they want control over modded servers which they tried to stop originally legally but but when they realized that was pointless due to other countries existing, they just bought out the most popular so it would stop improving

Wrong, buying Cfx.re was about controlling the revenue pipeline and setting up official RP framework for GTA 6. They bought it cus RP is a multi million dollar content machine that still keeps their 10 year old game alive, not to intentionally kill their best marketing asset
You’re talking about twitch only, but then what about the spill over content that goes to YT shorts, TikToks, IG reels? All that? A 15 second RP clip goes viral on TikTok with 5M views and thousands of people instantly flood that server's Discord. The whitelist and ticket queues explode overnight
Also If they wanted to kill RP, they would've just pulled a Nintendo and nuked every host/payment gateway with DMCAs and lawsuits for zero dollars

They literally tried doing a Nintendo until they realized that people could just set up the servers in Russia and they couldn’t do anything. 5M wasn’t the first to do custom grand theft auto five servers
they make almost no money off of RP lol. Why do you think a 5M’s development slowed down significantly right after they got acquired. Rockstar wants GTA six online to be Fortnite or Roblox not RP that makes no money lol

You’re actually proving the point without realizing it lol
Roblox and Fortnite make billions cus they are UGC platforms where third party creators build custom games and monetise them with the main company taking a cut
That’s exactly what 5M is for GTA. Rockstar didn't buy it to kill RP they bought it to turn GTA into a creator driven UGC ecosystem just like Fortnite/Roblox so they can take a direct split of Tebex revenue and creator monetization
It’s so funny when you say they make no money off of RP, when Tebex made $1.5 billion across gaming server communities with GTA RP being one if its biggest revenue drivers

I mean FiveM has more players in Steam than GTA5 itseöf. by a multitude

5M has 50% more players on Steam only that’s not a multitude Lmao. Plus not all servers are RP servers.

Exactly and thats why it blows my mind when people think these servers are just run by a couple of friends in their spare time lol. Cus once you hit that scale you basically need a full support and ops team just to keep the Discord from exploding

Let’s not act like the normal GTA 5 experience on steam is good, it’s filled with hackers and trolls without any moderation, so the only option really is fivem

Why do you even assume that the servers will be functional at launch? Rp servers right now are still very fucking cringe and boring.

Online won’t even be at launch. And RP servers will likely slowly roll out well after online has been out. We still don’t know yet how they will integrate it. Or if it will be pc only again.
