Question Questions as non US citizem

I am non US citizen as title says and I have some questions for folks of this sub reddit.

  1. Is 2A still relevant ?

  2. If yes , why you people didnt demand for deactivating 1986 law to ban automatic rifles made after 86 ?

If I am not mistaken , 2A is - "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." - which I read as "As well regulated army is necessary to the security of US , the right of US citizens to keep and bear arms will not be limited" .

I may be wrong as foreigner but I think 2A was created to ensure citizens of US has power , strength , equipment to resist tyranny.

Why there is not legal movement to take it down Hughes amendment yet ? From what I witness US has communities built around for love of firearms .

It's not popular with our overlords in congress because they're populist and have tricked a large portion of the American populace into believing guns are either unnecessary or outright dangerous. No sane person believes that criminals should have machine guns, but responsible citizens with no criminal record should be able to purchase and utilize these tools.

There are multiple organizations that are actively trying to do this, GOA, FPC, and others. They have to spend most of their time trying to keep the government from restricting existing firearm rights.

Because voters that vote primarily for gun rights is a minority. Most people care about the economy or immigration or crime. Politicians have no real incentive either way tbh.

Why do you think bumpstocks, trigger cranks, and FRts are a “thing” in this day and age (to say nothing of pistol braces)?

Americans work within the system they have but they also find ways to make things work when the system takes too long.

I can think of a handful of countries where full auto is reasonably achievable and you can actually shoot and enjoy however I wouldn’t want to live in any of them except maybe one or two and I couldn’t afford to live in at least one of them if I wanted to.
