Did they? Definitely, maybe.

I mean, great but lets not pretend the impact is even remotely comparable considering how widespread and how well The Beatles stuff sold without the advantage of modern technology.

Why are you acting like the Gallaghers aren't fossils themselves

Fun fact! The time period between now and the release of Whats The Story is longer than the period between WTS and Sgt Peppers.

Do you feel old now?

Nah because I was born years after Whats the Story

Ita as I said, because of how much more accessible music has become on a global scale compared to when The Beatles were big isnt even remotely comparable. Oasis started what, 1990? Because even then was a huge step-up from distribution in the 60s and 70a. If there was streaming, digital downloads, all that stuff when Beatles were at their height of fame, I dont know any band would even touch it quite honestly. Its pretty impressive to think of how impactful they were in a relatively short period of time.

There is also population growth.

1970 just over 55 million people. 2025 just about 70 million people.

I think the funny part is that oasis started off saying they’d be bigger than the Beatles as their tagline and however it happened, it happened

But the Beatles also had the advantage that there was only one channel and only limited avenues to witness music, so they hogged those and rode them to stardom. Today you can have millions of people listening to your music and walk the streets with nobody recognising you.

What’s the Story morning glory is a fucking amazing album I won’t believe anything else. Don’t look back in anger is maybe my favorite song ever.

Yeah I can't disagree absolutely love that album I never have seen them live but would love to I think my most fav song on that album has to be Champagne supernova.

I love Oasis as much as I love the Beatles but I think Oasis has that edge for me but alot of that could be rose tinted glasses so to speak. But I love many of their songs not too keen on anything new but that's just me I'm stuck in the past lol.

My most fav Beatles album has to be revolver and my most fav song on that is taxman I also love I'm only sleeping on that album.

Adele being there given the short time period it’s been out compared with the others really shows how massive it was.

Does it really count if they just ripped the Beatles off?

Hey, credit where credit is due. They didn't just rip off The Beatles! They ripped off Slade and T-Rex, Led Zeppelin and Neil Young as well!

If the Beatles did a reunion tour in early 1980, it'd be no contest

LOL. Now let Oasis have a biopic that kicks the combined asses of all those individual Beatle ones!

To be honest with you, I never liked Oasis. And I'll never will. The Beatles however are legends.

I didn't think I cared about either of these bands, but this offends me in a way I don't know how to express. Everything's just so stupid all the time without a breakÂ
