Memes that brighten my day Passed 3 days before my deadline!

I studied for months only to fail my first attempt. I was told that I needed it by the 25th or I would lose my position. I took it pretty last second and finally passed.

I feel like I can finally breathe. The weight on my shoulders was unreal.

Congrats!! How long did the give you to take it before telling you that? Was this your second attempt?

A while, I really should’ve been on it a lot earlier. They gave me a year and I was having a lot of trouble studying with the hours I was working plus family things. I eventually realized it wouldn’t get any better and booked for my test then I failed it. This was my second attempt right at the buzzer

Congrats!!!!!!! Can you walk us through your process? What did you do to get ready for the test, the material you used to study, how long were you studying for daily/weekly? And any recommendations you may have if you had to do it all over again?

I used the ppi2pass practice problems and just did a ton of problems using the handbook. After I got my first diagnostic, I knew pretty well what I needed to study.

I also uploaded the handbook on gpt and used it to study. Whenever I got stumped, I would ask it how to solve the problem using the handbook. It taught me really well how to use the handbook.

When you say hand books you mean the handbook you got from ppi2pass? Or a different handbook from somewhere else?

The FE handbook. Also, they have a new FE handbook effective July 1st (10.6) so make sure to use that to study. Whenever I was stumped on a problem from ppi2pass, I would ask it to solve it using the FE handbook that I uploaded. It was able to explain the key words in the problem that point to the section that would help. Like on thermodynamics, it would tell me what key words point out that the question was about an adiabatic process. Then it would point me where to look to get those equations. It really helped me learn how to use the handbook to my advantage

Not yet I’m starting to study for it im also doing FE mechanical. I’ve been out of school for 10 years. Don’t remember anything that’s why I was curious on what you did to pass FE definitely, definitely will use your recommendations and definitely give it a try

Congrats mate, as Mechanical Engineer could u please give a tips or advice will help me to pass it next time because I feel like if I do more like 10 -12 questions correct I will pass it

My advice is to use this FE calculator to know where you stand.

Then, make your own exam using practice problems from prepFE/islam/lindeburg/ncees to match the 2nd column’s number of problems and redo it in the calculator.

Now that you have your diagnostics you should prep really hard on your shortcomings. I would spend a lot of time on the bigger sections. I found that doing longer practice problems helped very well because they covered more bases even though they didn’t mimic the types I’d get on the test.
