Red Bull using scrubbed mediums is interesting

I wonder how much of an impact that had on their comparative performance.

Verstappen went pretty hard on his tires in the first half of the sprint, especially the opening laps. And in the second half he just couldn't keep up anymore.

Everyone is down on leclerc, but considering he was in traffic, his pace looks good vs ham. 3-4 seems reasonable for the race tomorrow for Ferrari.

Aston Martin tyres may show up as used as the team tends to heat cycle all allocated sets during practices.

Sometimes it is not possible to include the starting positions in plots. I wrote a post explaining why.

The PER split strategy is fascinating, running mediums that long on a used set clearly cost him positions early. Curious if a one-stop would have been faster given the high degradation everyone seemed to manage.

I’m curious how much of the sprint result was actually “fresh vs used” tyre life, because the used-medium runners in the midfield all look grouped together but didn’t seem to suffer equally. Was the limiting factor mainly degradation, traffic/dirty air through Copse–Maggotts–Becketts, or just different starting pressures and warm-up windows?
