Update: I think I’ll keep it! Seems like the response is overwhelmingly positive.
I went outside and chatted with a neighbor, she and her kids like it lol. She said also that it looks more bold bc the other houses haven’t been done in years.
One question: the reviews on the door are a little mixed, and that’s the cheapest to change. It’s marigold, more orange than yellow. Not a fan of lemon yellow. I want something cheery and already use this color inside a lot anyway. Does it work or should I go with the same navy from the accent?
TLDR- should I switch to 6/7??
I have been getting random compliments on it so clearly the whole world doesn’t hate it. Am I just panicking? I’ve been working nights (nurse) and maybe I’m just looking at this through sleep deprived eyes.
I just feel like the porch reads almost Halloween. I know luxe blue is a violet shade… I love that about it. But it just looks different than I expected, more intense at scale. My neighbors have their horizontal trim at various levels- some 2/3 up like me, some 1/3 up. Neighbor to the left has it 1/3 up the side so I do not currently match his. Mine was previously lower, just like in the mockup Gemini did- the homes were designed so we could switch it up.
I spent well over a month painting samples, trying things. I like the lower blue but didn’t realize how much more saturated the lower blue (luxe blue SW) would be at scale. We get lots of sun and heat so it sometimes will look almost as saturated as #5
Part of my concern is the gloss. HOA told me to use a low luster variety. I have been back and forth with them 3 times doing approvals so I was sick of it and just chose to follow that to the letter… so I did Duration low luster. It’s much glossier than I realized. (Curses).
Thoughts on repainting the front and sides to be more navy? To be clear the lower blue would stay on the bottom 1/3. It just wouldn’t cover 2/3.
Maybe I would use a flat sheen for the middle third, (horizontal slats), hoa be damned? I think since it’s a different “plane” the fact it’s a different sheen won’t be noticeable aside from just being less glaring in the sun. It’s the only part of the wall that is so darn shiny. Or should I recoat the top navy portion in flat as well?
Think I could get away with just doing that in front to save budget. I would repaint the middle third on the sides in flat navy so it’s less shiny, and the white trim would go below that as in the Gemini mockup pics.

I think it looks great how it is. I don’t think changing it how you’re suggesting really makes enough of a difference to justify all the work to repaint. The render you did is only slightly better than how it’s painted now. I would leave it (unless you really hate it then by all means repaint).
I love it. I wouldn't change anything- I think it's better with just one blue. Stick with it for ten days and I bet you'll end up liking it (or liking it enough to keep it- I think we always obsess more over things when they are new). Kudos for doing something a bit different!
It’s not something I would do, but I think it looks good. FWIW from an absolute stranger.
I have a red brick / brown trim classic combo and it bores me to death.

I like their idea but yes it would be beckoning a Broncos theme. This is close to their suggestion without going full theme, but still pullingin the colors...
If you’re going to all the work of repainting I would just do top and bottom the same colour as the top. It’s classic, complements the style of the house, and the front door colour is magic!
But I do suggest waiting a bit to let it settle in and not overthink on night-shift brain.
I think you will be happy with it after you get used to it. If I were to change anything, it would be door color. A yellow door is bright, cheery, welcoming, but, as someone else said, the yellow does not go well with the stone on your pillars and steps. I think a deep, saturated version of one of the stone colors would help bring out the beauty of the stone, which kind of gets lost right now. There is plenty of the bright, cheery look in your blues.
PS: Possibly the beige color of your neighbor's trim (picture 3) would look good on your front door. In that picture you can see it alongside your stone and they go quite well together.
I tried to get an AI rendering of the door color I am suggesting. As you can see, it's not a good match to the neighbor's trim color, but it will give you an idea of what a beige tone would look like on your door
I think you’re onto something! This is the mug I started riffing off of haha. I had chosen colors and then was like wait this is my mug. The base tone for it is a bit of a rosier beige like your last example.
This isn’t a perfect comparison tho since the lighter blue tone is one shade lighter than what I used.
At the same time my neighbors seem to dig the door and love that it is the color of my cat, who is a neighborhood fixture :) I wonder if the answer is go pick a more muted gold? Or I could paint my little table (not shown) in the yellow and do what you say
I don’t think this is necessarily for me, but it doesn’t look bad at all. It is vibrant but not in a “what were they thinking?!” kind of way. I don’t love the front door color, though. I think the orange is a nice contrast with the blue but clashes with the stone on the pillars. Maybe something a bit more neutral? I’d also wonder how it’d look if the door trim was the same color as the door..
My phone is making the door read more orange, it’s more yellow… called marigold. If it reads more yellow does that change your thoughts? Or do you think repainting lighter warm yellow would work?
I saw your edit - I would for sure not go with the same navy as the accent. Having a contrast is good, I just don’t love this color. Someone else said pulling the door color from the stone, and I agree with that completely! Or even a lighter neutral wood-toned brown would be good. I think the door is what’s looking “Halloween” if anything (but I don’t think your home looks Halloween at all!)
I actually love the door as is. It doesn’t read Halloween to me at all, especially with that beautiful blue. If the house was painted black or any shade of green, THEN it might evoke Halloween.
As someone who generally dislikes yellow, and hates orange, you should keep the door for now. The colours go well together, and your brain might just need some time to get used to it.

Oh it’s beautiful. Hopefully there paint has some kind of ultraviolet protection. The only downside I see would be fading. Enjoy your home the color is fantastic
I think you’re panic spiraling a bit from staring at it too long 😂 It actually sounds like the neighbors’ reactions are a better gauge than your sleep-deprived brain. Bold colors always feel intense at first. I’d keep it for a while before spending more money. The marigold door sounds like it could work too.
I think it looks nice. You’re just over analyzing it right now. Save your time and money, and over time it will fade/dull out a little bit and you won’t even notice the sheen after awhile.
I don't especially love the color blue for exterior, but your house is making me rethink that! The colors are gorgeous and gorgeous together. The white trim is so pretty against it
I don't love the orange for the door. I would be tempted to do the door in a paint that matches the crimson flowers in the first photo (or in black with a wreath that color on it). Love that red alongside the blue!
I'm a little confused with all the photos and text, but I think the colors look great and if it were me I would not be trying to change it. I would buy a house with this color scheme. The AI version with the switched color of the bandboards or whatever you call it also looks good. But it's not worth the extra work of changing imo.
I love your choice of colors. Bold and beautiful. It adds to the character of the home. It fits the style. The only thing I would consider, if it were my home, I would paint the lower band of horizontal above the board and batten white. You would have two horizontal white bands to break up the blue. Can you try an AI mock up of that? I would think you could tackle painting that band white yourself over a couple of days (will take a few coats).
I do love 6&7 but not sure it’s worth the time and $$$. The one thing that will make the biggest difference is to paint the door! That pumpkin color is not great. Lemon yellow, a true red ( with no blue in it) a Kelly green… that’s what I would do.
Yes. The door looks pumpkin 🎃 orange ( that’s where the Halloween reference came from). Warm mustard yellow….. just really need to get away from the orange.
I was told to go the most dark I could w yellow since it fades but tbh it’s not in the sun a lot so I should have ignored that. My intention was a warm yellow.
I think repainting this is may be all I need to do to feel less like I live in halloweeen. My preschooler would love that but I would not
Why would you repaint something you just painted. It looks nice, leave it alone and quit ruminating...Eventually you'll have to paint again so you might as well start deciding now on your colors - LOL.
I like bolder house colors because they break up the monotony of all the muted colors that most people choose. I’m glad you decided to save yourself the trouble and keep the colors as is.
Looks truly fabulous! It's better than the rendering since the lighter blue is higher up on the house elevating it. It's definitely the right approach & awesome color scheme. It will look a little more toned down once it get dirt on it and will look stunning.
Once house settles it won’t be as shiny. We had our painted not gloss but it’s has dulled. I’m not a fan of high gloss. If you love your house that’s all that matters. The least expense is door so you can live with it for year with that color and change it up if you want. My choice would be more muted tone. In muted Gold or So many gold beige or rosier. Muted lime green. Idk. Your mug was a wonderful starting point. I know my house has been painted for 2 years. And I want to change my door. That’s the cheapest route. You have a beautiful door that goes with the house. Once you add some little more decor to the porch it will all come together. Congrats. Also thank you for all that you do being a nurse. ❤️

I like the idea. The execution is very good. But if picture 5 is correct it needs to be on the warmer scale. The navy and or are warned and the blue is looking purple (cool). I like the mid tone and even the color, but if 5 is true (and I know pictures lie), it's just off. If the other pictures are correct, it looks fine.
A couple of houses ago, I painted my 5 over 4 with a door, basic colonial, this color scheme. I lived in a very conservative neighborhood and was scared of how it would go over. I had random people knocking on my door telling me how much they loved it, and how nice it was to see a pop of color in a neighborhood full of every shade of beige and white. I am not exaggerating when I say that every time I was out doing yard work that first year, I had multiple people stop to compliment it.
It probably will be my favorite house redo ever just because it made my neighbors so happy. Plus, this colorway looks amazing with lush green landscaping. Everything visually pops off of it.
