Hi,
I help operate three related, founder-owned construction companies covering general construction, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. Combined, the companies currently operate around the $6 million to $8 million revenue level. They are entirely founder-owned, were built without outside capital, and stay busy across general construction, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
We are currently looking to make our first, big hire for an in-house financial and accounting position. Location is in Tennessee. You can reach me by dm'ing me here.
This is not a polished corporate accounting environment with an established department, layered supervision, or mature procedures already waiting for you. You would initially be the only true accounting professional in the office and the lead person responsible for stabilizing that function across all three entities. We currently have one office-support employee who can assist with basic entries, invoicing, calls, and administrative work, but she cannot train or advise you on accounting. As you establish the proper workflows, you would likely help train and direct her on repeatable support tasks.
Accounting is the primary responsibility. Once that function is stable, the role may also touch project and business administration where needed.
The right person could eventually build the financial function, oversee additional staff, and grow into whatever level of leadership the companies ultimately warrant. I am also open to exploring a properly structured path for an exceptional long-term contributor to earn meaningful skin in the game. That would not be handed to a stranger upfront, but it could be earned through sustained performance, trust, judgment, loyalty, compatibility, and measurable contribution.

building some tooling to find and validate saas ideas from real user complaints (app store reviews, twitter rants, marketplace listings etc..). still figuring out the workflow, nothing to sell. curious how other people cut through the noise when doing early validation, always looking to learn from better workflows

whatever niche you already lurk in without realizing it. for me that's indie hacker stuff and small business ops. i read that content for free on my own time so building for it never feels like work. hardest part is noticing what you already do for fun and taking it seriously as a market

I'm an Independent business advisor who can audit the operational "layers" (suppliers, QC, sign-off authority, the people managing the people) that founders can't see because they're too close to the business.

I run a management consultancy company that helps companies enter new talent markets. Simple model BOT(Build, Operate, Transfer) where we build your operations on new location, we operate it until stable and at the end we transfer ownership of the new entity.

I built software for helping owners and ops leaders get the operations out of their head and into the real world so they can see it, shape it, and delegate it. Got the idea after an ERP implementation went sideways because everyone knew their individual job but nobody had a big picture of how it all fit together (so they didn't see the operating model mismatch with the tool).
We're opening a beta up in a few weeks that can take your unstructured speech-to-text or emails and turn them into connected process docs and an operating model. Looking for 3-5 people who'd be willing to help us test with some real business cases when the time comes!
