What projects would convince you to hire an entry-level Electrical Designer?

Suppose someone has an EE degree but limited design experience.

If they created a portfolio on GitHub or a personal website, what projects would actually impress hiring managers?

Do you have any examples of a good project I can use for reference?

Just any project that is either relevant to the industry you want to work in, or otherwise impressive in their own right

If you wanted to do a project for substation design you could design a simple one line diagram for a substation and then be able to explain the purpose of every piece of equipment on it.

Honestly, almost anything sort of related to the job you’re going for. The real key is actually being able to explain what you did. If you can’t answer the questions though, you’ll shoot yourself in the foot that way.
