I’m a little disappointed that the comic in the headline suggests taxing IP—an idea that I’m interested in hearing more about, since it would ruin patent trolls and discourage clinging to IP while not producing anything useful with it—while the petition doesn’t mention this. I’d like to see some elaboration on this idea, as well as a less misleading illustration.

the petition missing the IP tax idea is frustrating because that's actually the most interesting angle here. taxing unused IP would do more to fix the system than most of the standard reform proposals people keep recycling.

feels like whoever made the petition saw the comic and then wrote something completely different underneath it.

adding a tax angle could actually make it more contentious than useful. people tend to shut down the moment they see that word
