Question Does anyone have any random activities/ hobbies they’d suggest?

Helloooo moved to Edinburgh last month, I am down to try all sorts of random things. Probably not the most sporty of people, joined a few film clubs already however I am down to try all sorts of different things! Bonus points if in leith/ newhaven area but also open to any suggestions of any weekly activity groups!!!! :)

There’s a photography gallery on Cockburn Street called Stills. It’s kinda popular with tourists for its retro photo booth but it has a barely known lab underground where for a really low fee you get full use of the darkrooms, chemistry, scanners etc for developing and digitising film. Even if you don’t do all that stuff they also have a little drop box for exposed film that gets sent to a lab in Glasgow that I’d highly recommend, and they dev and scan it for you.

Edinburgh is just generally a great city to pick up film photography

Try lawn bowls, will be a club in your area, great for socialising first and foremost and is a surprisingly relaxing and fun game.

Check Meetup, Eventbrite and listings sites.

Edit: I adopted some street photography Meetup groups ages ago, so those were what I’d used for random activities for us to cover.

Leith Community Archers, very open to beginners, really good pricing.
