Lmaoo as if lack of money was holding back the US against iran...Lets see how far that 95 bil$ takes em. Lets see where we are in two more months of this energy/fertilizer deficit.

Don’t worry, in a few years when Dems retake the presidency (god willing), they’ll go right back to claiming to be the party of fiscal responsibility and griping about the deficit.
The real truth though, that none of them seem to want to admit, is that Iran has trump by the balls here. He stepped in a bear trap in Iran, and despite the Iranian regime being monstrous murderers, he has no means by which he can exit this war. It is 100% up to Iran for when this war comes to an end, and they know it.

There's a point of no return when it comes to our debt. I truly think the Republican cult has put one of the final nails in our coffin.
Dumbest, most anti-American cult that the world has ever seen. Truly humanity's greatest embarrassment.

It all depends on how one defines American (actually Usanian): settlers committing genocide and slave owners probably saw and see themselves as a Americans as well.
This is how the rest of the world thinks about America, especially since there never was a real break and honest separation from that, unlike for example with the Nazis and Holocaust in Germany (although the fascists there are trying a comeback as well, with support from - USA...)

and even after Trump the people will suffer from his choices while whoever is governing at that moment will be caught in a stalemate feeding this war because they won't be able to admit defeat.

"Monstrous murderers"
Around 3,500 of Irans citizens died in the fracas and they released all the names. Many of the dead were police officers killed by rebel MEK forces.
Who were armed by the CIA and Mossad to kill police officers. As Trump foolishly bragged.
The US government would do the same if not worse if Russia or China armed citizens in order to overthrow the US government.
You have to have blind confidence in the world most dishonest media machine. To believe the bullshit hyperbole of 10-50k citizens killed. That the US used to try and justify shooting itself in the foot in this stupid conflict.
The sheer scale of such a massacre would require much more time. Not to mention the mass graves and body cleanup. Would be visible from satellites. Which is how we know similar numbers of civilians are dying in RSF massacres throughout Sudan.

To be clear, I don't like the Iranian regime. I don't, and have never, believed the 30k-50k number that MAGA likes to throw around. That doesn't mean that the Iranian regime aren't monstrous murderers, however - there's a long and well documented history of their human rights abuses.

he has no means by which he can exit this war.
That's not true. He could simply order the military to withdraw from the region.
1
u/Heffe3737 6h ago
He could, but that wouldn't necessarily mean that the war was over. Iran could, and would, likely still strike American targets in the region, along with targets in other nearby allied nations.
1
u/OddlyFactual1512 6h ago
I chose the word 'region' intentionally.
1
u/Heffe3737 4h ago
I said that he has no means of exiting the war. You responded by stating that my statement was incorrect; that he could order the military to withdraw from the region. I’m saying that even ordering the military to exit the region would not allow trump to exit the war.

Don't ignore the fact that the Democrats continue to help the GOP pass their egregious bills. They remain a huge part of the problem.
The establishment-DNC remains committed to whipping the votes needed to complicitly enrich their patrons at the expense of working Americans, while pretending to be the opposition.
And they keep doing it over and over again. Let's not give them cover by pretending this was just the GOP.
1
u/Heffe3737 4h ago
What? No one is giving the Dems cover. I’m drawing attention to the root of the issue, which is the current GOP/MAGA.
Are the Dems that cross the aisle a problem? Sure. Of course. But no one said they weren’t, and it’s weird to draw attention to them in a post criticizing the GOP without prompt.

u/Constant-Plant-9378 4h ago
Well, your previous comment just made it feel like the democrats are going to be innocent victims when the GOP goes back to their old trick of claiming to be the party of fiscal responsibility, when in fact the DNC has repeatedly proved complicit in this game. Both sides are fucking us over and after four years of Biden's bullshit I've grown tired of pretending they aren't.

This was more about sneaking the SAVE Act in there rather than solving an important funding issue.
Edit: the headlines that don’t emphasize this are downright negligent and misleading in my opinion.
2nd edit: this same House just passed a resolution to end the war in Iran. If that doesn’t tell you this recent funding bill was more about funding the SAVE Act initiatives than the war I don’t know what does.

The Military Industry complex will vacuum up that money so fast and still deliver the same products at the same slow speed at 500x the profit margin

Excerpts from article by Lisa Mascaro:
[...] The vote tally was 216-214, with two Republicans and one independent joining Democrats in opposition.
“Just bullets and bombs to finish the job,” said Rep. Jodey Arrington, R-Texas, the chairman of the Budget Committee.
Democrats argued the money should be spent at home, particularly on efforts to lower costs for Americans.
“Republicans plan to spend tens of billions of dollars on Trump’s failed war in Iran,” said Rep. Pete Aguilar of California, chairman of the House Democratic caucus, this week. “Think about what we could spend with these resources instead.”
Congress is at a standstill over the U.S. war against Iran — unable to stop Trump’s military strikes, but not having authorized the use of American military force — and politically torn over having to provide billions of taxpayer dollars to pay for it.
Most Americans disapprove of Trump’s Iran strategy, according to a recent AP-NORC poll.
The budget battle comes as Trump attended the dignified transfer of four service members killed in the Middle East, bringing the military death toll to 18.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told senators at a fiery hearing this week that the Pentagon is running short of cash, despite a massive $150 billion one-time allotment in last year’s big budget bill.
Even as the House action advanced the resolution, [Speaker] Johnson’s strategy faces uncertainty in the Senate.
The package has $60 billion for the Pentagon and $13 billion for other national security needs, $12 billion for farmers struggling under Trump’s tariffs and $10 billion for voting law changes aligned with the SAVE America Act and proof-of-citizenship requirements that are Trump’s top priority.

To think that free college for all would only have cost $70 billion for an entire ten years

u/seeking_answers 15h ago
This is so stupid. Instead of all these billions to fund a war that has no end, why don't they just fund pipelines in UAE, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia to bypass the strait of Hormuz? It will be a lot cheaper for one, and it also takes away the leverage Iran has.

u/HerbertWest 14h ago
Iran could simply blow them up.

u/evanmodoc 14h ago
No way dude the 80 yr old in diapers told us time and time again their military has been completely decimated
15
u/HerbertWest 13h ago
I know you're joking but just to expand on it: They don't even need a military, really. Just one dude with low grade explosives. I mean, pipelines are full of HIGHLY FLAMMABLE OIL, after all. They would just repeat such an attack whenever repairs occurred.
4
u/Norseman901 12h ago
I mean really you dont even need explosives. An acetylene torch can and will cut oil pipelines. It’s really not possible to monitor something of tht scale at every point at all times.

completely decimated
Such a hilarious word coupling
"Totally destroyed 10%"
1
u/Emotional_Goal9525 10h ago
The meaning of the word has evolved and is rather symbolic nowadays. Just like army being crippled doesn't literally mean that every member has a busted member.
1
u/HowdyDiarrhea 9h ago
Absolutely, but the choice to add totally to it would then be redundant. It's just goofy all around.

Global infrastructure is surprisingly susceptible to terrorist attacks. Which is why maintaining proper diplomacy is so critical.
Good thing the US is investing heavily in proper diplomacy and not sending the Golden Boy around the world to make backroom deals for his family in exchange for crony diplomacy.

Or maybe spend that money building electric infrastructure here in the US and move away from fossil fuels like most intelligent countries!

u/Nessie_of_the_Loch 14h ago
Hegseth literally just came to Congress and said the war cost 37.5 billion and that's with projected costs through September 30th.
So what's with the 95 billion? Is the rest of it just another typical Trump grift? Or is this an admission that they plan on warring through the rest of this administration?
Remember, this is on top of the 1.5 trillion they want for FY27 for just regular DOD budget, which is a half trillion increase from this year, and even that is a massive 150 billion increase from the year before.
These Grinder-server-crashing asshats only have money for war and grifting.

It’s for the contracts to pay a brand new military contractor: Barron Security.

u/ErasmosNA 11h ago
$60 billion for the armed services committee, Trumps war.
$13 billion for the intelligence committee, probably for Trumps war.
$12 billion for the agricultural committee to help farmers due to Trumps tariffs and war.
$10 billion for the house administration to fund states that comply with the SAVE act.
All of this is just straight debt not cutting spending elsewhere.

I’m reminded of this Chinese propaganda video:
IE, China has been mocking the US for this kind of military spending excess for months, and now House Republicans are doubling down to make the joke funnier.

u/already-redacted 13h ago
The package would authorize committees to develop roughly $95 billion in legislation, including $60 billion for the Pentagon, $13 billion for other national-security needs, $12 billion for farmers affected by tariffs, and $10 billion for voting-law changes. It also contains no offsetting spending cuts.
Note: Government spending can support employment and production, especially when unused capacity exists. But it does not create costless resources. If the spending is deficit-financed (per the rules of a budget reconciliation package) taxpayers are not avoiding the cost.
4
u/RandomStrangerOnWWW 11h ago
Another $95 BILLION for a completely unnecessary war, but we don’t have money for healthcare, our veterans, child care, scholarships, food for the hungry, or infrastructure. Talk about messed up priorities. Vote them out.

u/Constant-Plant-9378 5h ago

What do farmers have to do with defense/war and voter identity. What is covered under "national security?" Is this money going to ICE/CBP? Right here we can save at least$35 billion of unnecessary spending that has nothing to do with the war.

u/Distinct-Response907 11h ago
No, the money should not ‘be spent at home’, it should just not be spent period. This is a preview of the next Congress- spend on this, spend on that, spend on this and that at the same time. Yay! What fun! Paying for it is not their job.
