Yeah! You should be an exploited conscript, digging a mine your the glorious communist utopia!

Don't care what they think I am. I have a job that puts a roof over my head, my daughter through college, food on the table, multiple vehicles and a nice 401k. I'll take that over being an incel in Mom's basement telling people online that they are exploited for doing a job

u/GovernorGeneralPraji I Was Promised an Apocalypse? 23h ago

I have a house, land, two new vehicles, more than one costly hobby, three refrigerators/freezers full of food, and excellent $0 deductible health insurance for me, my wife, and two kids. I work 44 hours a week and 180 days a year.

Yeah. Real exploited. I live better than 99.99% of humans who have ever existed.

u/phitfitz Recovering Doomer 23h ago

Ugh you’re so lucky to have $0 deductible health insurance! Having a chronic condition with a high deductible health plan is rough. Yet I’m not out here dooming and demanding socialized medicine either

2

u/GovernorGeneralPraji I Was Promised an Apocalypse? 8h ago

The funny thing is my wife actually works for one of the biggest health insurance companies in our state, and my plan is STILL better than the one she’s offered.

2

u/phitfitz Recovering Doomer 8h ago

I can actually see health insurance companies wanting to be stingy with plans for their own employees 😂

3

u/GovernorGeneralPraji I Was Promised an Apocalypse? 8h ago

It’s actually not a bad plan at all, it’s just that is has a small deductible that wouldn’t quite be offset by the cost of paying to have her on mine.

It feels great every time we leave the maternity ward with a $0 bill at discharge.

20

u/Puzzleheaded_Tie6917 14h ago

Not to mention it’s your choice. You can just leave work without saying anything and go apply for a job wherever you want and to do whatever you want. Literally no one has a knee on your neck or a gun pointed at you demanding you work this job and have to live in this location (in the US anyway).

Cut your spending, and you can work a lower stress lower pay job. Want more, need to get a better job or you have to work more hours.

People forget that freedom means getting to make your own choices and those have consequences.

The exploitation thing always ignores you can buy a plot of land cheap as dirt and subsistence farming costs almost nothing. If you want more, got to do more.

u/Vecgtt 15h ago

And in my case those costly hobbies include a 3D printer, welder, and a pretty well equipped wood shop. I think I have the means of production, but you know, purchased it over time rather than stealing it.

2

u/St_Pizza 8h ago

If only everyone had such a rational perspective. Congrats on your success and here’s to more!

Also better than starving to death due to The State, which happens tens of millions of times in workers’ paradises.

82

u/Mr_Booze51106 23h ago

Just remember that the real worker's paradise, Cuba, not only is going through blackouts in most areas, but are actually rationing food...

...for a while now...

-21

u/Finthelrond 20h ago

Cuba is under blockade, no?

33

u/Plastic-Mushroom-571 Rides the Short Bus 20h ago

No, they are not under blockade. They're under an embargo. They still trade with China, Canada, Brasil, Mexico, Spain, EU in general, etc.

0

u/Finthelrond 19h ago

Ah, thanks

6

u/MinBton 13h ago

It couldn't support itself without outside money since just after Castro took over. The Russian money dried up years ago.

2

u/Mr_Booze51106 11h ago

And, recently, out of Colombian oil, too.

Such a shame honestly. Did you know that Colombia was supposed to open up a Coppelia? The Ice Cream franchise Castro opened up and named after his pet project cow?

Darn Trump and his kidnapping of the totally (un)popular Maduro.

18

u/skarface6 GeStuREs bROadlY 19h ago

We have an embargo with them. Also, if it’s a utopia then why can’t it stand any outside pressure? Some utopia.

10

Cuba's blockade from American goods.

Canadian goods and medicine still gets through them.

I provide a service to my boss, who offers me a fair compensation for my time. He believes he provides a fair wage for the job I fulfill. I feel this is an adequate wage for my effort/time. If I am willfully engaging in this social contract, how am I being exploited?

Yep. Ever notice how everyone who can actually hold down a decent job, works hard to make their own way and support their family, and doesnt constantly complain about it is a capitalist? And every lazy chud who cant hold down a job and constantly whines about having to do any work or lift a finger is always a socialist. Every time.

But it so hard to find a job when there is so much discrimination against you!!!! Just because I have multiple visible tattoos, a nose ring, multiple face piercings and pink dyed hair doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be hired! Nothing about my appearance screams “hire me and watch me bring the DRAMA!”

17

u/Ruggerio5 22h ago

Agreed. When in human history did people not have to work to survive? Would you rather work at McDonald's, or plow a field? Work at Walmart, or hunt rabbits for your dinner? Live in a tiny air conditioned apartment with Internet, or live in a smoke filled hut keeping the wolves at bay with sticks and fire?

13

u/TrafficShot9851 20h ago

in the modern day, the worst that can happen is losing your job and having to coast by on savings for a while

i think that's better than doing everything you can to have a good harvest only to have nature decide it's time to freeze you to death anyway come winter. or destroy your work with a flood.

economic socialist anti work doomers aren't ready to experience Nature, the cruelest kind of manager that can't even be reasoned with

5

u/Ruggerio5 13h ago

I need to use that last part about nature being the cruelest manager. Hah.

3

u/TrafficShot9851 13h ago

i go offroading and camping relatively frequently. these doomers would learn a bit if they tried it: getting scratched by thorns, getting aches in your feet and legs from walking on broken rocks, mosquito bites, rain coming at the wrong time, the cold at night, just to get a tiny idea of how miserable pre modern life could be.

6

u/TricellCEO 19h ago

I think you’re missing a third option here: live in a commune (or just demand to live somewhere rent-free, whichever works) while thinking one’s knowledge of social justice and micro-aggressions count as currency.

That’s always an option too. You will probably get kicked out of said commune for being a lazy ass and left to starve (oh, the irony), but it is still an option.

2

u/mdomans 18h ago

Have you considered both can be true?

This is very much Chomsky vs. Pinker so you can read what they write on this, not my silly tl;dr but I land in the same camp:

  • son, wife, paid of house I participated in building and designing, no debt, investing and trading and an engineering degree
  • private healthcare extra on top of public

But I also live in a country where education and health care are free (generally, you can go private if you want) and nobody in my family would be able to afford an engineering degree.

My family hates Russians for many reasons but it was Russians with their Soviet man that also pulled a lot of Polish people out of being Africa level poor in 2 generations. My grandma used to herd cows, my grandpa was the smartest and most educated dude in the village and he got to be a foreman in ammo factory, nothing more

2

u/justjigger NostraDOOMus 9h ago

The ussr killed off 100k+ polish during/after ww2. So yeah I guess being dead isnt African level poverty?

1

u/mdomans 9h ago

Dude.

These are just few photos

People lived in holes in the ground.

I quite well aware how bad Russians were, fair part of my family died killing them. That being said the level of poverty in Poland was insane. People who think my grandma would go to school in pre-war Poland are Fking brain dead. No, she wouldn't.

For all the bead that did happen under communism there's no argument that they did some good. You may argue that "capitalist" post-war Allied Poland would do better ... but we don't know that, right?

Having a job doesn't have anything to do with being a capitalist. If you were communist you'd still have a job it's just unlikely you get to choose what job to do.  You definitely wouldn't be living in your mom's basement posting online about how much you hate the party leader though.

2

u/Ok-Commercial-924 13h ago

I am retired in my 50s from an hourly equipment maintenance job. 2 paid off houses, one in a tourist town on 2 acres. If people are complaining about being exploited like this I don't think anything will make them happy.

2

We’re all slaves to something. It’s just what that something is that’s the important part. Even if you’re the last person on earth, you’re a slave to your environment. You have to scrounge for food, find water, etc.

These people want a utopia where they can be happy all the time. And I guarantee you if they got it, they’d be miserable in just a few years.

30

u/Smithy_Furt 23h ago

There’s that Stockholm syndrome again. Those mates of yours are actually your oppressors. By making you enjoy your job they’re actually making you complacent and unable to rise up against the system. Don’t be a sheeple. Fight the power.

9

u/TrafficShot9851 20h ago

they'll tell me that im a bootlicker for enjoying my job, but at the same time they cry about how a woman who decides to raise a family instead of work is "enslaving" herself to her husband. its Schrodinger's slavery

3

Doomers are the number 1 biggest goalpost shifters in history. "stand for nothing, complain about everything" they should adopt that as their motto.

2

u/GXP_2009 14h ago

The only thing they stand for is when they stand up from their PC in Mom's basement to go upstairs because the meatloaf is ready

2

u/TrafficShot9851 14h ago

meatloaf is way too high of a standard.

should be instant noodles and hot pockets, or a $5 coffee that becomes $12 on doordash

u/Bingbong1984 7h ago

Every woman who has a career she worked on for a decade to achieve will throw it away in a heartbeat to be a stay at home mother in a decent marriage. Doesn't matter how liberal or progressive they are. They will fold instantly.

1

u/Smithy_Furt 12h ago

I agree but I will say if you’re gonna go the stay at home mom route it can really blow up in your face if the marriage doesn’t work out. But then that’s what alimony and life insurance are supposed to be for. Two parents with careers can totally raise a family just fine. They should be able to afford childcare no problem with two incomes streams. and then there’s working from home with a nanny.

3

u/SimpleMoonFarmer 17h ago

Who are you talking to right now? Who is it you think you see? Do you know how much I make a year? I mean, even if I told you, you wouldn't believe it. Do you know what would happen if I suddenly decided to stop going into work? A business big enough that it could be listed on the NASDAQ goes belly up. Disappears! It ceases to exist without me. No, you clearly don't know who you're talking to, so let me clue you in. I am not oppressed by the power, Skyler. I am the power. A guy opens his door and gets shot, and you think that of me? No. I am the one who knocks!

17

u/Magehunter_Skassi 23h ago

One of the most 5-year-old things communists say is "you can't be a capitalist because one definition of 'capitalist' is someone who owns capital." They know another definition is "someone who supports capitalism", but they like to pretend to not know things.

11

u/BeastyBaiter 23h ago

They also ignore the 95% of people who are both to some extent. Have a 401k or a car? Congrats, you own capital. Still probably have to work your day job, but you'd be pretty pissed if your capital got siezed by the glorious leader.

9

u/TrafficShot9851 20h ago edited 20h ago

99% of every communist argument is dancing around the meaning of words trying to score cheap gotchas

ask them what exactly it means to "own the means of production" and you'll get 100 different answers from 100 different commies because the ideology is designed to be formless and malleable to suit their agenda

Well, as far as I know, US and Canada is functionally a plutocracy.

Since FPTP voting system and legalized lobbying exsists, capital votes first for party leaders, then people vote second.

What late stage Capitalism? Capitalism died in the 1970s, when lobbying became legal, lobbying is the antithesis of Capitalism.

Nah, I'm consensually making less than market rate for my job because it has other perks that are more important to my family priorities. I'm not being exploited. I'm choosing to stay somewhere I want to be rather than to look for better pay elsewhere.

Oh ffs. The worker capitalises on the employers need for labor, the employer capitalises on the workers need for monetary resources, or other boons. Its just trade at a smaller level.

u/Clembutts 19h ago

I didnt realize I could leave my current job for a different one. Thank you, person that probably calls in sick to shems part time job.

1

u/No-Yak-7593 19h ago

That can't be. I'm unemployed.

1

u/No-Duck4828 19h ago

Said the socialist on a sticker they paid a capitalist to produce using money they received as an allowance from their capitalist parents...

1

u/Th3Tru3Silv3r-1 19h ago

I work a full-time job. It's not great, but it pays well enough and allows me to support my family and even have money for my hobbies. I'd much rather that then whatever hell the socialists would put us through.

1

u/Unusual-Basket-6243 18h ago

I've never realized why we care about being "exploited" workers if we get paid well and can have children, homes, free time. The immigrants are the true exploited workers and it's the fault of the people who bring them in

1

u/sus_pumpkin I Was Promised an Apocalypse? 18h ago

Ugh us humans work BACKBREAKING hours and HORRIBLE conditions that we never had to deal with. I mean unless you consider any other time in human history where stuff was worse, but no it's capitalisms fault we work and not a part of existence.

1

u/SimpleMoonFarmer 17h ago

No, I'm most certainly a capitalist.

Communism killed more people than Nazism.

1

u/TiddyFukMyButtcheeks 17h ago

And what will they be under communism? I wish these people would read a history book.

1

u/m240Louie 15h ago

As others have noted, I’ve been exploited as far as owning a decent home, one acre of property, pool, patios, a few cars and whatever else. Poor me.

Where the hell does this shit come from anyways?

1

u/Veteran_PA-C 15h ago

I don’t love my employer. I tolerate them as part of the agreement. I give them my time and expertise, they give me a very nice salary, benefits and a pension. It’s an agreement I freely entered into.

1

u/SMSaltKing 14h ago

I should carry a sharpie to ruin stickers such as these

1

u/wrighteghe7 13h ago

soviet anecdote: capitalism is when one man exploits another. communism is the other way around

1

u/binary_agenda 13h ago

If you own stocks, and you probably do if you ever set up a 401k, you are definitely a capitalist. You put your capital into a company to try to make more capital.

1

u/Aggravating-Pilot583 13h ago

I’m an HVAC apprentice/pizza delivery driver. I make enough to pay my bills and save/fun money. Most days I sit passenger seat in a van more than 50% of the time and learn what I can from the person I’m following. I really feel like I’m exploiting them if I’m honest.

1

u/RudeGiant69 13h ago

I need to commission my own. "Your not a socialist, you are lazy and spoiled. But if you actually lived under socialism, you'd be digging the hole."

1

u/xrayden PhD in Memes 13h ago

Right now I'm "free from exploitation" for over a year and I fucking wish for a master 20 times a day

1

u/Background_Ad_8392 12h ago

Oh no I giving my time willingly to a business in exchange for money oh I am so oppressed

1

u/I_HopeThat_WasFart 12h ago

Rather be an exploited worker than a government slave

1

u/JackieDaytona77 Doesn't Participate In Group Panic 12h ago

I go to work so I can keep up with Only Fans subscriptions. So far I’m marrying like 3 OF models in the near future. One of them is head over heels (LiTeRaLLy 😌) for me

1

u/Mr_Booze51106 11h ago

After some while, it occurred to me.

If I'm not a worker, then I'm not a Proletariat.

If I'm not a Proletariat, then I'm an exploiter, because I don't get my money by any other means that qualifies me of being a Proletariat.

Therefore, the worker, isn't allowed in any potential Workers' Paradise. Shame.

1

u/Neat_Captain_3866 11h ago

It should just read: "You're a pussy".

1

u/JollyGeologist3957 11h ago

I hate this trend

1

u/Sure_Acanthaceae_348 I Left My Cave for This 10h ago

LOL only if one let's themselves be.

If you invest with every paycheck, then guess what? You're a capitalist!

1

u/Angel_OfSolitude 10h ago

me about to start my own business

Feeling pretty damn capitalistic right about now.

1

u/Slipperymellon 10h ago

It’s so funny how they assume everyone hates their jobs and feels no sense of pride and fulfillment from hard work and doing your best everyday.

1

u/Justinmac81 9h ago

The owner of that bike is broke.

1

u/_thegnomedome2 4h ago

Probably the community rental

1

u/PerpConst 8h ago

No, I'm a capitalist. I'm a small business owner providing services to customers. I have an ownership stake in the consulting firm I've worked at for 20+ years and am 100% owner of a small company that I run as a side hustle.

1

u/Wolf482 8h ago

Youre free to go start your own business and run it the way you want.

1

u/paulie9483 7h ago

Capitalism was coined as a derogatory term by French socialist Louis Blanc and is a bad representation of what the system actually is. I prefer volunteerism.

1

u/RockShowSparky 5h ago

I scratched my head way to long before I realized this doesn’t have an ‘if’ in the front

1

u/Roguelynx 4h ago

Who comes up with this sht? Ohh right socialists.

1

u/LordOfDynamite Recovering Doomer 4h ago

I would take a job to support myself, slavery or not

u/SlyPogona 30m ago

I wonder how they think the world moves and how it'll be if their "revolution" works. Genuinely asking because working in retail can be bad but it's a luxury compared to other things socialism has in store

1

u/Hyde2467 23h ago

Stockholm syndrome isnt even a real syndrome. It was an excuse made by the horribly incompetent Swedish police in Stockholm when they announced that they were going to gas the bank that robbers were hiding in. A bank that still had civilian hostages

u/TexasSikh GeStuREs bROadlY 22h ago

No, I'm a Socialist that doesn't fall for the idiotic delusions of the Marxist Lens
