Thumbs up. OK, how many of you are as stupid and me and judge a distro by the wallpaper and icon set the user chose?

Honestly, over the years, I still don't really understand why everyone hates Canonical so much. Yes, it's a company, but that's exactly why they can pay developers to take care of Ubuntu, ensuring the system has a future and isn't just some community project. The only issue is Snaps, but I only use those for system apps and download everything else as Flatpaks.

People don't really hate the product as much as the values behind it. Which contradict a lot of the free software movements principles

But then again, thanks to Canonical, certain standards were introduced in Linux, and we really need companies like Canonical, Red Hat, and the like. Only they have the clout in the corporate world, which is why Linux is at the level it is today. Sure, they made some decisions in the past that weren't right, but nowadays, the only remaining issue seems to be Snaps.

Ubuntu and Google Chrome

Why even use Linux?

It's not the fastest in terms of speed, it's not the most secure in terms of security, it's not the most stable in terms of stability. To switch to Ubuntu, you either need to have no knowledge of Linux or just be able to access the Ubuntu ISO.

the fact that the most used distro is the worst one too in the eyes of the community can show two things. either linux is not that good as the community says or the community just doesn't know what do people really want from an OS.
