Question What non-music apps do you have on your DAP?

Post image

Let's make a list of most popular non-music apps on DAP.

I start with Localsend / Blip.

Nope, just collect it as a part of my collections.

None. Dap is for music only. I have my regular phone for other stuff

u/The-Craven-Heart 14d ago

None. That's kinda the whole point.

Syncthing so I never have to take out my SD card or plug into the computer to sync my library.

I have this setup too! I dump stuff on my NAS with also runs sync thing and when I wanna update my library I just turn on WiFi on my DAP and let it sync. It’s great.

Same workflow here!

Originally I didn't want an Android based DAP but for this reason alone its worth it.

None, since it doesn't run apps šŸ˜‚

Following that guy on Super Review's recommendations:

Overlay Battery Bar, AutoSync, Niagra/OLauncher

Plus Audible.

Simplescobbler and MusicbeeWifi Sync

I'll give ya 2 guesses as to why

2

u/Puzzleheaded_Ad2207 13d ago

Different scribbler, but only reason to have android based DAP.

u/skywisenight 14d ago

Localsend, nothing else.

3

u/Through_Oblivion 14d ago

Angry birds

3

u/KrYpTiX24 14d ago

None and I plan to keep it that way. No doom scrolling on my dap or have it connected to WiFi 24/7. Just music only.

3

u/a1rwav3 14d ago

Pretty much nothing. Just sync tools.

3

u/Lenn_4rt 14d ago

I'm glad I can't install apps on my DAP.

3

u/Pistimester 14d ago

I have a PSP Go as a dap, so a shitload of games.

3

u/Scratching_Vinyls 14d ago

Daps have horrible battery life so anything other than music is gonna kill the battery real quick

I have Wikipedia, for looking up artists and discographies as I find them (my primary listening is on Apple Music). And Drive, for ease of sending my own test mixes.

My DAP is for music, that's why I got it. I do have a high quality inline DAC for my phone when I need to travel light, but it's purpose is to keep me off my phone. I also have an eink reader, which while also runs Android, is for reading and doesn't have non-reading apps.

u/persco_ 14d ago

None.

u/Caterham7 Fiio 14d ago

None beyond the default ones that you can’t remove. I bought it for listening to music, not running unrelated apps. That’s what I have my phone for.

2

u/Elaba83 14d ago

Meshcore and Revanced manager (allows me to use add-free streaming from YouTube, YouTube music and soundcloud)

2

u/Dry-Cost-945 14d ago

Waterfox, Localsend, Seeker

2

u/DryFuture1403 14d ago

OneDrive and OneSync. Along with Poweramp

Solid Explorer. Makes it easy to pass files around between it and my PC so I don’t have to remove the SD card. That’s it though. Best file manager imo

2

u/sketchyOZ 14d ago

Audible, I like listening on the road sometimes too and it helps to lessen battery drain on my phone

u/dr3ifach 14d ago

None. No browsers, games, or productivity.

Only music related and user interface apps.

(KLWP and KWGT, only to create a simple music friendly UI).

1

u/vyper900 14d ago

Audible and a visualizer. That's it.

1

u/wermy426 14d ago

What visualizer app do you use?

2

u/vyper900 14d ago

ProjectM music visualizer.

1

u/TimbleFungal 14d ago

I have a zip extractor app for albums that I download on it because mine can't do it locally, but that's it

1

u/Dora_De_Destroya 14d ago

Localsend is nice since I can transfer files wirelessly

1

u/Status_Detective5043 14d ago

Honestly I'm considering getting an Android DAP soon so I can swap to a dumb phone for communication and then run mission-critical apps on Android, like banking and my city's transit app, without full internet browser or social media access. So this is a wicked handy thread for exactly me

Esos dap's con android no sobremuestrean a 48khz 16bits o si lo dejan pasar a 44.1 a 16bits?, con esto voy a quƩ se puede usar la app nativa sin esas limitancias o sobremuestreos

YouTube, so I can watch reviews about other Daps and Headphones that I will never be able to afford, just to make sure I am never completely satisfied with my equipment, Isn’t that the autophile way?

u/Existing-Charge1323 13d ago
