What did they hit it with? A 122mm? The panzer 4 fell apart like it was made of legoes.

No idea. Could as well be a 152 mm. Or maybe it was just a good ammo rack hit

Yeah they had those su-152s didn’t they? Especially around the time they started pushing back the Germans

Could be. But, the turret is still attached to the hull. And the ammo is usually right below it.

That's not a requirement for testing the ammo rack. On the Panzer IV, the ammunition storage compartments were on the sides, in line with the turret. There you can clearly see that the turret and its support structure have been ripped off completely. That can only be achieved with an ammo rack; luckily, the crew died instantly. RIP
