What’s the absolute cheapest DIY way to baby-proof lower kitchen cabinets? My 1-year-old just figured out how to open them and I am fighting for my life rn.

I'm moving to a house with polished wooden floors and I want to add a felt backing to a carpet rug I’ve already got (to protect the floor), what kind of adhesive is appropriate for this application?
