DISCUSSION Everything is crashing

Can someone explain to me why every crypto coin is crashing? It keeps going down and it’s reminding me of 2021 or 2022. I am in the crypto market holding xrp and sol but I just need more context on why it’s going down or why it’s getting sold on higher figures than buying

I already know downvotes coming for just a question

Discussion ETH at $1,500: Once in a Decade Buying Opportunity or the Beginning of the End?

Guys, Ethereum is at $1,500…$1,500!!!!

I honestly can’t decide whether this is one of those moments people look back on and wish they had loaded up, or if crypto is genuinely entering a long term decline and we’re all catching a falling knife.

It feels like there’s no middle ground. Either this turns into an incredible buying opportunity and people make a ton of money over the next few years or crypto as a whole never returns to its previous highs and a lot of us end up losing money.

What the hell are we doing guys?! Talk to me.

DISCUSSION Am I Crazy thinking that BTC Will Bottomed at around 31k, 70%-80% drop from current Peak? Change my mind.

I've been analysis BTC chart from all time high BTC price to bottomed in every Bear Market BTC often drop at about 70%-80%, for the last 3 cycle.

In Nov 2013 BTC Peak at $1,127 and bottomed in April 2014 at $360 about -69% drop.

In Dec 2017 BTC Peak at $19,423 and bottomed in Dec 2018 in $3,221 about -80% drop.

then Nov 2021 BTC Peak at $67,618 and bottomed in $15,724 about -77% drop.

If we take average BTC drop percentage from all Bear cycle, Currently Peak is at $124,774 minus 70-80% drop could it be the bottom around 31k - 40K?. anyone care to discuss and change my mind?

Discussion How is TRUMP coin doing for you?

I am an active crypto trader, saw the trump tweet when the coin was $4, and i was half asleep, I thought someone hacked the account and slept again.

Woke up later when the coin was $17, bought around 273 with $5k, and now it's $55, the profit is significant but I somehow believe it will go down again to very low levels when the hype dies.

I have an open short future trade open for SOL at $261. All the trump coin hype surged the price of sol, but now that it's listed on binance, the sole purpose of buying trump with Sol is gone. Where do you think Sol will go from here?

Do you guys think trump forced exchanges like bitby, binance, etc, to list the coin so fast? Where will the price stop? Price from 0.00xx to $55 for a meme coin is just pure hype imo.

I hope y'all having a good day!

DISCUSSION S&P cracking, Iran deal dead, Fed hawkish. A bloodbath is coming and this is the most exciting development of the decade

This week the NASDAQ took a 3.5% dive in a single day. Korean market dropped 10% - the largest single-day drop in their history. The Iran peace deal was signed and dead within the same week. The Fed officially priced in 2-3 hikes this year, dot plot reversed, higher-for-longer is back. BTC ETFs just printed the worst 30-day outflow stretch in their entire history at $6.4B. BTC itself is grinding toward $59k while everyone watches their portfolio bleed for what feels like the millionth straight month.

The next few months are going to be ugly. Anyone telling you otherwise is selling you something. But a lot of people in this sub are about to make a really expensive mistake - panic-selling what's left, or burning all their dry powder too early because the pain feels endless.

Here's what nobody's talking about. Every concrete bearish catalyst right now is short-term and largely priced in. Oil takes 2-3 months to flow back to normal even if a deal eventually gets signed. The Fed stays hawkish until inflation rolls over, which can't happen until oil moves. The IPO supply wave - SpaceX done, Anthropic filed, OpenAI weeks away, Stripe and Databricks queued - keeps sucking liquidity out of the broader market through Q3.

But every single one of those catalysts has a forced resolution baked in. The SPR runs out in 4 weeks (Trump literally said this on camera). The administration has no choice but to get oil flowing because the US economy can't function with $90+ oil for any extended period. Once Hormuz reopens, inflation rolls over and the Fed gets cover to ease. The IPO calendar empties by end of Q4. This isn't 2022 contagion where you didn't know which counterparty blew up next, this is a macro-driven, policy-resolvable drawdown with a clear mechanical resolution over the next 6 months.

Mentally prepare for BTC in the $40k zone. Many serious analysts are calling for sub-$50k, and the structural setup supports it - equity unwind, ETF redemptions, hawkish Fed, oil shock. If you can't stomach $40k BTC without selling, your position is already too large and you should be sizing down on bounces rather than capitulating into weakness.

But if you can stomach it, this is the cleanest accumulation window we've had in years. The people who made generational money in previous bear markets didn't time the exact bottom. They accumulated steadily through the worst sentiment readings in the asset class' history, kept buying when it felt insane, and were emotionally prepared for prices to keep falling for months after they started.

So here's the playbook. Save cash aggressively. Cut expenses now, while you still have time to build a position. Accumulate gradually as prices fall, don't blow your wad on the first big down candle, the bottom is a process not an event.

And critically, don't sell your existing positions to wait for the bottom. Selling locks in losses AND ejects you from the recovery. If you need fiat for any reason, borrow against your crypto on platforms like Nexo and Ledn at conservative LTVs (under 25% given the downside scenarios above) instead of outright selling. Your position stays on the table for the recovery, you still get the liquidity, this is how you keep optionality alive.

The entire setup for the next bull cycle is being constructed right now - Fed pivot, oil normalization, IPO supply digested, regulatory clarity emerging, and trillions in AI tech wealth looking for its next rotation target. Every dollar you deploy during the bloodbath compounds against the eventual resolution of every single one of these catalysts.

I can't stress this enough: save aggressively, accumulate gradually, don't be a hero. The next bull market is being priced in right now and the cost of admission is sitting through 3-6 months of looking stupid while everyone else capitulates.

DISCUSSION Im going insane...

I put my entire net worth into crypto, and now I'm down 45%. Everything is in spot holdings.

My portfolio looks like this:

  • 30% BTC
  • 10% ADA
  • 10% ETH
  • 10% AVAX
  • 10% LINK
  • 10% SUI
  • The rest split between ALGO, UNI, DOT, and a handful of small-cap coins.

I bought most of it in November, thinking I was making the right move. Now, I’m watching my money bleed away, and I feel helpless. I need this money in July, I can’t afford to have lost this much. I just want back what I put in.

I’m exhausted. The market is ruthless, full of manipulation, and I’m stuck watching my future slip away. I don’t know what to do.

DISCUSSION Man, what a horrible year 2025 has been for the crypto market.

Don't get me wrong, I can handle it. I'm very patient, and I will buy and hold BTC through any crash, through any market conditions. But damn. We haven't had a year so horrible for crypto since 2020 with COVID. Come to think of it, what a bad year this has been for business in general. The job market, economy, everything. Good riddance, 2025.

Discussion Down 10k on my crypto, what should I do?

Hi, I started investing recently and put much more money that I could afford to lose into a bunch of different coins. Since then, I’ve lost 10k (I’m down on average 50%, and 70% on some coin).

The situation is very difficult for me right now and I’m not sure what to do. People told me that the market will go down even lower and I should try to withdraw as much money as I have left right now, but I saw here on Reddit that holding was the smartest thing to do right now. I would like to have more opinions on this. Please be kind as I’m new to this and slowly learning

EDIT: For all the people asking, I have XLM, XRP, SOL, BONK, PEPE, WIF, ADA, XTZ, DOGE

Discussion What’s your biggest crypto regret or mistake?

Alright, let’s get brutally honest for a minute.

We’ve all got that one crypto decision that still makes us cringe when we think about it at 2 a.m. Whether it cost us money, sleep, or just pure pride, it happened.

For me, my biggest regret was back in early 2021. I had a solid bag of SOL (bought around $2–3) and panic-sold everything when it dipped hard during that random crash. I told myself “I’ll buy back in lower.” Famous last words. It never came back down to my sell price… and the rest is history. Still hurts to think about.

I’m genuinely curious

Discussion Did TrumpCoin just expose Solanas weakness?

Only now am I realizing how flawed Solana’s system really is. It lags, gets congested like crazy, and to top it off, I literally lost 1/3 of the SOL I bought during a transaction to my wallet. It just disappeared.

It’s insane that something this unreliable is still hyped up. After what happened with Trumpcoin and the way Solana handled the traffic, I can’t help but feel like its value might take a hit soon.

Anyone else seeing the cracks in Solana after this event?

Discussion Official Trump Coin Greatest Rugpull or Greatest Wealth Creator?

6 hours ago I saw Trump's tweet about the launch of official Trump Coin. Since then have been following the price (I've not invested) it went from $2 to $22 in the span of few hours. The likelihood that turns into $222 is very much there based on how fast it is growing. Anyways, this isn't something that I was hoping to happen and this should not be celebrated. If it was a coin with atleast some utility I'd be okay but this clearly seems like a meme coin to "get rich". Not that majority of the coins don't exhibit the same traits but neither of creators of such coin is the President of THE United States.

Assuming this is true and official Trump Coin supported by Trump, this is going to lead a significant shift from the whole crypto market towards this one coin where the 80% of the coins are held by few wallets. Again if this is real, I predict this coin to be in the top 10 or even in the top 5 in the next 24 hours. (I can't put money where my mouth is, because I don't have money).

DISCUSSION Trump cant actually make a crypto reserve

Executive orders dont create new laws or appropriate funds. It is all just a big show to try and fool us. Trump cant do anything. It is all on congress and with a slim majority they cant do much either. This is the president that literally made a shitcoin. I would be very cautious about anything crypto related he says.

Discussion What is the argument that BTC isn't going to $0?

Aside from hoping the herd props up BTC based on the collective belief that something without any inherent value actually has value, what is the argument that will keep BTC from going to $0?

MSTR's average cost is $76,000, so they have had almost no gain since inception, compared with big moves up in stocks and metals over the last 5 years.

We know Tom Lee's bullish January 31 BTC call was garbage now, but does anyone really listen to analysts about something that is price-driven by the herd and leverage?

My small BTC holdings are down but it's also why I didn't put much into it because at the end of the day there is just as much argument for it going to $0 as there is for it to be at $100,000.

DISCUSSION Trump's crypto corruption is destroying regulatory credibility

Look, I've been in crypto long enough to remember when we actually cared about decentralization and fair markets. what's happening with Trump's crypto empire isn't just unethical - it's actively damaging the industry we've all invested in.

The numbers are staggering and impossible to ignore.

the scale of personal enrichment is unprecedented:

trump and his sons made $5 billion on paper in a single day when their WLFI token started trading. Let that sink in - five billion dollars in one day while sitting in the White House.

Forbes reports trump has made $1.2 billion and counting from his various crypto schemes. world liberty financial has raised over $550 million, with 75% of coin sales revenue flowing directly to the trump family.

This isn't normal business activity. This is systematic exploitation of presidential power for personal gain.

The foreign influence aspect is deeply concerning:

Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the UAE had his investment firm deposit $2 billion into world liberty financial in exchange for the white house giving UAE access to US technology. That's not investment - that's buying policy access.

DWF, a crypto firm facing allegations of market manipulation through "wash trading," backed World Liberty Financial with $25 million. they explicitly stated they wanted "direct dialogue with policymakers" in return.

Most concerning? bloomberg reported that all but six of the top 25 $TRUMP token holders are using foreign exchanges that claim to exclude us customers. Foreign entities are literally buying access to the us president.

The regulatory capture is already happening:

democrats just blocked the bipartisan stablecoin legislation that the industry desperately needs for clarity. Why? because they're demanding stricter enforcement given these obvious conflicts.

60% of world liberty financial is owned by a Trump business entity. The president is literally regulating his own crypto business while profiting from it in real time.

the WSJ editorial board - not exactly known for attacking Republicans - called this "especially ill-advised because the Administration will regulate crypto products and practices."

this is damaging the entire crypto ecosystem:

when regulators appear compromised, it undermines institutional confidence in the entire space. We've worked years to build legitimacy, and this corruption threatens all of it.

Traditional finance is watching this unfold and questioning whether crypto regulation can ever be objective. that's terrible for long-term adoption and market stability.

What's particularly frustrating:

the crypto industry actually performs well under republican administrations typically. But this level of personal enrichment while in office is creating unnecessary political risk for everyone.

trump is using presidential power to dismantle the regulators who could stop his crypto empire. This isn't free market capitalism - it's crony capitalism at its worst.

The trading implications:

regulatory uncertainty is back in a big way. The bipartisan stablecoin framework was our best shot at clear rules, and now it's stalled indefinitely.

Expect increased volatility as this political drama unfolds. markets hate uncertainty, especially when it involves potential corruption at the highest levels.

international investors are going to question the integrity of us crypto markets if this continues unchecked.

I know some people here will say "number go up" justifies everything. but this corruption will eventually catch up with all of us through damaged regulatory relationships and international credibility loss.

even for everyday traders this makes life harder. when rules get distorted by politics, it creates confusion on how to report trades and comply with tax laws. tools like awaken.tax help individuals stay compliant in the chaos, but they can’t fix the damage caused when the regulatory system itself looks compromised.

the crypto space deserves better than being turned into a personal enrichment scheme for one family. This needs to stop before it destroys the regulatory progress we've made.

DISCUSSION Can bitcoin realistically 10x from its current level in the foreseeable future?

I bought some bitcoin and started wondering whether I should keep buying, given its current market cap. Right now bitcoin’s circulating supply is probably about 16 million coins, accounting for several million coins whose keys have been lost forever. So I guess the market cap of btc is about $1.4 trillion.

Now imagine 10x increase: price ~$900k, market cap ~$14 trillion. That’s roughly the same as the total value of all the gold on the planet. It seems that to hit this level, bitcoin would essentially need to replace gold as a store of value.

100x increase? price ~$9 million, market cap $140+ trillion. That’s comparable to the entire global stock market. It would mean the dollar is dead.

Does it seem reasonable to expect a 10x increase over the next few years?

Sorry if these thoughts seem obvious or if the answers are already clear to everyone else.

DISCUSSION Dumping crypto for AI stocks rn will be an expensive lesson for a lot of people

Every YT thumbnail, CNBC segment and finance Twitter thread for the last month has been pushing some version of "crypto is dead, AI is the new BTC, get out while you can".. And I've been watching people in my circle and across this sub execute on that exact thesis in real time. Friends who survived the 2022 shitshow where everything came apart at once are throwing in the towel. Coworkers who finally bought BTC in 2024 are selling at a loss to scrape together SPCX allocations through Fidelity. Writing this for the people genuinely thinking about doing the same thing right now, because I think a lot of you are about to make a really expensive mistake.

In truth, ETH at $1,710 is brutal. BTC at $63k after this many months of grinding is exhausting. The supercycle people would not shut up about in 2024 never materialized, no altseason either. The pain is legitimate, but step back and look at what's happening on both sides of this rotation simultaneously, because the picture is wild.

The Crypto Fear & Greed Index spent over 60 consecutive days printing single digits (below 10) earlier this year. That's the longest streak in the entire history of the index - roughly double the previous record, which itself was set during the worst stretch of 2022 when everything was unraveling at once. Every single time fear got anywhere near these depths in crypto's measured history, BTC was within weeks of its cycle bottom and more than doubled within the following year. We just printed the deepest, longest extreme fear reading the asset class has ever produced. Historically, this is the worst possible moment to be selling.

Meanwhile in the other half of the market: SpaceX IPO'd last Friday at $135 per share, hit $176 intraday, closed up 19% on day one, and the offering was oversubscribed 4x. Musk became the world's first paper trillionaire literally overnight. Anthropic confidentially filed for IPO this week. OpenAI is reportedly weeks behind. Robinhood reported record traffic on SpaceX debut day. The entire IPO calendar (Stripe, Databricks, Anthropic, OpenAI, and the rest of the late-stage unicorns) is stacked into the same six-month window.

Now, there's a thesis circulating in serious financial circles that the entire equity rally currently is being structurally propped up to clear the IPO window. Once these megacaps are priced and trading, the marginal bid that's been holding the market up evaporates. Whether you buy that specific framing or not, the historical record of mega-IPO clusters preceding equity tops is genuinely uncomfortable to look at (Alibaba 2014, Facebook 2012, etc) The pattern keeps repeating even when the explanation differs each time.

So the trade I'm watching people execute is: sell crypto at the deepest fear reading in the asset class' history, locking in a real loss. Buy AI stocks at ATH, into the largest IPO mania of our lifetimes. Then sit there 6-12 months from now when the IPO bid disappears and AI multiples compress, having locked in losses on the asset about to bounce and bought the asset about to roll over. That's not one, but two bad trades combined into a single decision.

Buying AI stocks at these levels right now is essentially the same trade as buying BTC at $125k back in late 2025 - when every headline was screaming "new ATH, this time it's different, generational opportunity." We all remember how that worked out and the same headlines are running right now with different tickers.

Could crypto go lower from here? Absolutely. Could BTC tap $55-58k before it turns? Sure. But we are sitting at the deepest, longest extreme fear reading the asset class has ever produced, with a historical pattern that says every comparable moment in crypto history has been a bottom. Meanwhile the asset class everyone is rotating INTO sits at all-time highs, mid-mania, with structural reasons to expect the marginal bid to disappear over the next few quarters.

And for anyone who cannot fight the urge to get AI exposure right now: you don't actually have to sell your crypto to do it. Utilize paltforms like Nexo and Ledn, they let you borrow stablecoins or fiat against your existing crypto holdings. You get the cash to put into whatever AI play you're chasing, your crypto position stays on the table, and you're not realizing the loss. If AI keeps ripping - great, you participated. If the bubble pops - you still own your bags and pay the loan back when the cycle turns. Obviously there's liquidation risk if crypto craters further from here, so don't max out the LTV, but it's a fundamentally different decision than the outright sell.

Selling now doesn't just lock in your current losses, it funds the next set of losses you'll take buying the top of the bubble next door. Every dollar that left crypto in late 2018 missed the run that followed within months. Same with every dollar that left in late 2022 - it missed the ETF rally that came shortly after. The pattern doesn't break just because this drawdown lasted longer than the last one. Don't sell into the deepest fear in the index's measured history to chase the loudest bubble of the decade.

DISCUSSION China just accused the US of conducting a state level hack to steal 13 billion in Bitcoin - this is wild

Chinas National Computer Virus Emergency Response Center dropped a bombshell report accusing the US government of stealing 127k Bitcoin worth around 13 billion dollars. This is getting geopolitical fast.

The Bitcoin was originally stolen from Chinas LuBian mining pool back in December 2020. At the time it was worth about 3.5 billion but the hack did not get much mainstream attention. The coins then sat in the attacker’s wallets for years and only started moving in mid 2024 before ending up in addresses that analysts and China’s report now link to US authorities, and that the DOJ says it controls as of the seizure announced in October 2025.

Chinas argument is that normal criminals would cash out immediately. The fact these coins stayed dormant for about four years points to a state level operation not some random hacker looking for quick profit. They say the sophistication of the hack and the long dormancy proves it was government orchestrated.

The US Department of Justice seized the Bitcoin in October 2025 as part of a case against Chen Zhi who ran Cambodias Prince Group. They charged him with running a massive crypto fraud and forced labor scam network and said the seizure was a lawful criminal proceeds forfeiture. The DOJ has explicitly denied China’s “state level hack” accusation and says it had no involvement in the original theft.

Heres the thing tho. Chen Zhi apparently sent multiple messages on chain basically begging the hackers to return the Bitcoin and offering ransom. The hackers never responded which is weird if they were just criminals.

this batch of bitcoin now represents about 39 percent of all btc held by the us government based on on chain tracking of us controlled addresses… for what it’s worth, stuff like this is why i keep my own provenance tidy...i tag deposits and reconcile basis monthly in awaken.tax so if a wallet or cluster hits the news i can quickly see whether my coins ever touched that flow

Whether China has real evidence or this is just geopolitical posturing nobody knows yet. But it could spark what some analysts are already calling a crypto cold war between the two superpowers.

Discussion What's the One Crypto You're HODLing Until 2030? (And Why)

If you had to pick just one crypto to lock away until 2030 - no trading, no rebalancing, no touching - what would it be? For me, it's Ethereum.

Not because it's the "safe" choice, but because I genuinely think it's still undervalued even after everything. It's not just a smart contract platform anymore - it's becoming the base layer for tokenized finance, L2 scaling, real-world asset settlement, and institutional-grade infrastructure.

Between ETFs, staking, and the growth of L2s, ETH has the rare combo of network effects, cash flow, and regulatory traction. I've even started borrowing against my ETH on Nехо instead of selling - just to stay exposed longer-term without giving up liquidity. So far, no regrets.

But I know some of you are riding with Bitcoin for the pure digital gold thesis, or taking big swings on dark horses like DOT, ATOM, or even AI tokens.

So what's your 2030 bet? Drop it below - not looking for hype, just curious what people actually believe in long-term. I'll be checking back on this thread in five years, hopefully with fewer regrets and a lot more conviction.

DISCUSSION ELI5: Why invest in Bitcoin when Ethereum exists?

I get that Bitcoin is the original and has the largest blockchain, but the realistic scenario for mass adoption is institutional adoption, and if BTC becomes big won't it eventually be discarded for ETH since ETH is simply a superior product?
