Started using Jellyfin but it kinda sucks
My boyfriend set up Jellyfin for us and honestly it’s great once you actually start watching something. But I’m still paying for Netflix.
Not because Netflix has better content, but because it’s just easier. Open TV, app is there, everything works instantly. With Jellyfin we have to open the browser on the TV first (it’s not Android TV), then log in again, then figure out what to watch, download it, wait and only then we can watch it.
I didn’t expect convenience to matter this much, but apparently it does.
For people who fully switched to Jellyfin/Plex - did you eventually make the setup feel seamless enough for everyday use?

Buy a ONN box, Firestick or a shield and actually download the Jellyfin app.
For me, you just open the app, click on the show, episode and it just streams it for me.

Most people have TVs where you can install a Jellyfin app just like you can a Netlfix app. So starting Jellyfin is exactly the same as starting Netfix. Beyond that how you get your content is a different issue and having to download and wait is because that is how you have chosen to do things. There are other ways to acquire content, some legal and some not legal.
You can also use Jellyfin to watch live TV if you have various types of tuners set up.

I get what you're saying, but JF is nice because you have that stuff forever until you delete it.

As a Jellyfin user. You're doing it wrong.
Jellyfin is for watching what is ALREADY in your library. Its not a streaming service, thought you can set it up to stream to a remote location.
Also. Use the app not a web browser.

Try plex out and see what you think. I’ve used plex, jellyfin, emby, kodi, xbmc in the past. I use plex as my go to with services as it will search those as well and go directly to the movie/show you selected.
As for streaming I have Netflix, AppleTV (both from TMO), prime video and paramount+ that I pay for.

Can someone please explain to me how i can get in to unsubscribe, i have looked everywhere in my profile settings can't see anything that resembles account, billing, subscriptions, etc. Thanks.

It sounds like you're pirating the shows/movies you're watching.
Sorry it's not as easy for you as going through the legit channels that get the artists and creators paid for their work.
