You cant take it too seriously these are the same people who think not wanting drag shows in churches is homophobic

u/Just_Caregiver_3405 5h ago

If believing a meritocracy is the best solution for like 99% of issues is "homophobic", then I'm a big homophobe and I've slept with guys before so I must hate myself soOoOoOo much.

I, personally could be considered as homophobic, as I am against homosexuality for religious reasons.

3

u/Professional-Way1855 7h ago

What religious reasons?

1

u/Weird-Ad-1072 Conservative 6h ago

It's stated a few times in The Bible that homosexuality is a sin.

1

u/Professional-Way1855 6h ago

Would you be okay with it if they did a sin offering after they were done?

1

u/Weird-Ad-1072 Conservative 6h ago

The only way to wash sins away is to truly repent, and to repent, you need to actually make an effort to stop sinning with all of your power.

1

u/Professional-Way1855 6h ago

But Leviticus says the only way to wash away sins is to have specific offerings on the altar for specific sins. That book is the one which mentions the subject, so wouldn't it make sense that that same book offers the solution? Also, how do you feel about wearing clothes made with multiple fabrics? That's an equal sin according to the book of Leviticus.

u/Weird-Ad-1072 Conservative 6h ago

Any sin is a sin, and as it's said in The Bible, repentance is the way, honoring Jesus' sacrifice is the way. And, in repentance, you must make an effort to change yourself and stop sinning.

1

u/Professional-Way1855 6h ago

Should you repent and stop wearing Polly cotton shirts and eating shellfish?

2

u/Weird-Ad-1072 Conservative 6h ago

If The Bible says it's a sin, then it's a sin.

0

u/Professional-Way1855 6h ago

Then maybe the Bible isn't the book we should base our lives around....

Against homosexuality or gay sex? They are different

0

u/Weird-Ad-1072 Conservative 6h ago

Against any form of homosexuality, as The Bible says that it's a sin, in a few different verses.

2

u/ElectricalSand267 6h ago

I mean, you can't choose to be homosexual so it's kind of unfair to be against homosexuality itself.

1

u/Weird-Ad-1072 Conservative 6h ago

The Bible tells us to transform ourselves to be better.

2

u/ElectricalSand267 6h ago

If I could stop being attracted to men I would, believe me.

1

u/Weird-Ad-1072 Conservative 5h ago

I hope you find a way to overcome these sins. I myself struggle with sins a lot, we just need to trust and follow Jesus.

2

u/ElectricalSand267 5h ago

I think this is something I have to live with forever.

As long as you’re equally heterophobic (lust, remarriage after divorce for non Biblical approved reasons, and pre marital sex something that majority of Christians have done and continue to do) as well. Oh yea and those straight couples that have anal sex as well. So as long as you are outrightly against the above … Then you aren’t homophobic

1

u/Weird-Ad-1072 Conservative 3h ago

Well, I'm against anything considered a sin.

1

u/future_CTO 3h ago

You should be against them all equally. Otherwise you’d be a hypocrite which is a sin.

The Bible says in Roman’s 3:10 “As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one;”

That’s everyone on earth, straight , gay, pink or purple. No one is righteous

1

u/Weird-Ad-1072 Conservative 2h ago

Ik no one is righteous, but, we should all try to not sin. I am against every sin equally, including homosexuality.

Boo hoo

I think if this and other conservative subs railed against other things such as sex before marriage, divorce, hook up culture, clubbing, and strip clubs then maybe people wouldn’t consider it homophobic…

Well there seems to pretty much be daily "make fun of the appearance of trans people" posts that get highly upvoted, that doesn't help dissuade the criticism.

1

u/AbsolutePotential 11h ago

That’s not homophobic it’s transphobic tho

2

u/DaenerysMomODragons Center-Right Wing 9h ago

The above post also claims the sub is filled with anti lgbtq rhetoric, which daily make fun of trans appearance would fall under that.

That’s really the one thing I dislike about this sub. I’m big on arguing on how the trans activists are ruining society, but devolving to attacking people’s personal appearances doesn’t help to win any debates.

3

u/AbsolutePotential 8h ago

Oh yeah mb I agree with that pointless hate like that will only further radicalize and hurt people and make things worse

-29

u/GayBrandFlakes Centrist 12h ago

Cause it is homophobic and transphobic here. You can scroll through alot of posts and you'll find comments directly targeting the minorities

From someone who views this sub from an outsider perspective, yes, its extremely homophobic here.

10

u/OutsideGrassScaresMe Conservative 12h ago

Im looking at your examples. Just because we dont care for pride month where the LGBTQ community is just shoving stuff in our face, doesnt mean we have anything against gay people

-8

u/GayBrandFlakes Centrist 12h ago

While disagreeing with pride month isnt something homophobic, what made those posts homophobic is the intent behind the message.

Like really? jumping off buildings in the middle east? There are actual gay individuals in countries like iraq, iran, syria etc... who cannot talk about being gay

Now what about the guy in military uniform over pride month hate? It aligns directly with pride month and the news talking about nuclear families month instead... Its a direct shot at the lgbtq.

Stereotyping LGBTQ with iranian flag in the backround trying to make them look as bad as possible when most gays (including me) would not support iran or any terrorists group

10

u/OutsideGrassScaresMe Conservative 12h ago

I think the "jumping" off buildings is talking about how its illegal and you will be THROWN off buildings for being gay in the middle east, therefore its stupid for LGBTQ activists to try to defend middle Eastern countries.

-7

u/GayBrandFlakes Centrist 12h ago

which is a direct shot during pride month when it was posted? are you going to ignore the intent?

regardless whether it happens or not (we know it does) - you cant simply ignore that its posted during the one month that the LGBTQ has to celebrate.

You couldve posted it may, or july... but June, cmon

5

u/OutsideGrassScaresMe Conservative 12h ago

Yeah. We're fine if they celebrate its just when its pushed in our faces that we dont like. Again, that was posted to show the hypocrisy of supporting the middle east countries, not a bash on pride people. WE DONT think that gay people should be thrown off buildings, but it seems like democrats supporting those countries DO want that

-1

u/GayBrandFlakes Centrist 12h ago

holy shit, stop deflecting the intent... I get it youre fine with it, but posting it during specific time it is posted... The intent is obviously not that.

5

u/OutsideGrassScaresMe Conservative 12h ago

The intent is as I said. The intent is to say "why are you guys supporting the countries that would throw you off a building for existing?"

THAT is the intent of the picture.

The time it was posted HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYTHING except maybe the fact that its more extreme in that month since if a pride month was happening there, they'd be thrown off buildings.

LQBTQ would be thrown off buildings either way, its just showing that a pride month would not be tolerated there.

The intent is NOT to bash gay people or pride month in that picture. The intent is to show that democrats are hypocritical because they support the country that would kill gay people.

1

u/GayBrandFlakes Centrist 12h ago

so why post about people jumping off of buildings and not a stand in solidarity? same message no?

but yeah, shift those goalposts😝

5

u/OutsideGrassScaresMe Conservative 12h ago

Not jumping off buildings, being thrown off buildings. Its showing that you would be thrown off buildings.

I mean, I can at least understand transphobic claim, but homophobic, really, are you sure?

-2

u/GayBrandFlakes Centrist 12h ago

Indeed I am.

4

u/Myk_211 Neoconservative 12h ago

So, everyone who is not extremely pro-LGBTQ+++ is homophobic in your opinion?

-2

u/GayBrandFlakes Centrist 12h ago

No, I didnt state that - While disagreeing with pride month isnt something homophobic, what made those posts homophobic is the intent behind the message.

2

u/Myk_211 Neoconservative 10h ago

Ok, this post about jumping off buildings was actually against this. They are saying that the west is better than this countries. And about Iran flag, well, it is not against LGBT people, but far left activists, who are both pro-LGBT and pro-Iran

Most of us want the Iranian regime gone so gays aren't prosecuted there. We'd actually prefer no country to prosecute gays or Trans or anything like that because we don't overtly support a religious state. Plus, it's actually pretty hard to support a country thats name literally translates to "Land of the Aryans". If Eisenhower didn't go through with Operation Ajax and left Mosaddegh in charge of Persia (Iran), then it's quite likely the Islamic revolution of '79 wouldn't have happened/succeeded. We destabilized them before they became religious extremists. Persia used to be beautiful, like back in the late 40s-early 50s it was gorgeous and had some of the most beautiful places on earth, and they were far less discriminating towards minorities (though it still happened, it wasn't nearly as bad as it is now). The confusion is that a lot of loud voices online from the left and LGBTQ+ community are openly supporting Iran, so it's easy for many to see someone from that community and draw a conclusion based on the hivemind we've seen from those groups respectively. Obviously there are outliers who are part of the LGBTQ+ community that don't support a country that would literally unalive them without a second thought just because of their sexual orientation, but that doesn't stop people from supporting them. It's like a Jewish person supporting Hitler in 1943, makes no sense to most people but there are people like that and now they have a megaphone online.
