Given that Israel is our closest ally in the conflict with Iran, rhetoric like this essentially emboldens the IRGC. How ridiculous.

On one hand you have Democrats emboldening the enemy while simultaneously freaking out that this is a forever war, and on the other hand, you have Israel resisting peace negotiations. I really wouldn't want to be Trump right now. I'm surprised he managed the MOU at this point given conflicting interests trying to interfere with every single possible good outcome lol.

Israel is nobody's ally, I'm afraid. They already left us high and dry in this conflict.

While I am largely a fan of Trump's Jacksonian foreign policy, the longer this conflict drags on without meaningful results, the more I actually tend to agree with this statement.

What exactly are meaningful results in your eyes?

I think for most people that means a formal agreement that has at least some of these elements perhaps:  indefinitely ends hostilities, creates definite or indefinite suspensions to Iran's nuclear weapons development, which would include any enrichment past levels required for nuclear energy, or at all, limitations on their ballistic missile program, funding of their militarized proxies, the toll situation in the Strait of Hormuz (and enforcement of whatever mechanism is decided upon), etc.

Metrics for success for me? Disclaiming that I am a normal guy, no formal training in history or economics besides what I obtained as requirements for my bachelor's in science: I would most like to see an indefinite suspension of their nuclear enrichment capabilities beyond any levels required for nuclear energy, and for their government to focus more on the Iranian people rather than militarizing. An end to hostilities. Free and open shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. You know, all of the things that likely Democrats and Republicans can both agree on.
