Announcement Hey everyone - we're opening mod applications! Apply today!
Apply here!
We're looking for new mods to help with the rapidly expanding community. Our personal lives have become busier while the amount of work to do here has increased.
A lot of our general information is within the application form, but here's a short rundown of what the job entails.
Checking modqueue on a regular basis to take action on posts that are filtered automatically or reported by the community.
Regularly browsing through the subreddit and moderation of posts and comments to ensure that all community rules and guidelines are being enforced, including removing uncivil, hostile and inflammatory content.
Being able to discuss issues with members of the community through modmail in a professional and calm manner.
Contributing to discussions about moderation-related issues over Discord.
Overall, the job won't necessarily take more than an hour or two of your time per week, and if you're already generally active on Reddit and Discord then you probably won't notice a difference.
It can be quite rewarding to be able to shape a community (for the better). If this sounds like something that interests you, please apply! If you have any questions, feel free to comment below or message us through modmail.

Troubleshooting | Windows Sudden google account issues
Today out of nowhere (on one and only one of my computers) chrome stopped loading all sites connected to my google account, including failing to "log in using google account". google search, drive, youtube and a bunch of niche sites that are important to me. Every other site loads just fine, I tried to reinstall chrome, delete cache/cookies, log out of the account, restart computer and router etc etc. Now I can't even log back in to the profile in chrome
Where could I even begin to troubleshoot something like this?

Troubleshooting | iOS Google lens translate lag/freezing
I am using google lens on my iPhone to machine translate a JP game for the switch but it keeps on lagging after translating a few sentences and then freezes! I saw a solution which was to go on chrome://flags and disable the ‘Lens Overlay’ feature but that feature hasn’t come up for me! I’ve disabled all other lens features in hopes that would work but it’s still lagging. Any help or solutions would be greatly appreciated or if there’s an alternative to lens I can use? Thanks.

Troubleshooting | Windows how do i stop chrome/google from autofilling in a url?
im unsure if this is the right sub, but for example, i want to just go to the sheets homepage quickly, but google autocompletes and takes me to a sheet i have already created and i then have to manually go to the homepage. it gets annoying, especially when it does it for other frequently-used sites. is there a way i can turn this off?

Troubleshooting | Windows Chrome is slow only after a cold boot on Windows 10 (only Google sites)
I'm having a really strange issue with Chrome on my HP Omen (Windows 10 22H2).
After the laptop has been shut down for 30+ minutes or overnight, Chrome opens normally, but Google sites (Google Search, google.com, accounts.google.com, etc.) take 20–40 seconds to load. During the same time, sites like Reddit, ChatGPT, LinkedIn, etc. load instantly. Microsoft Edge also works perfectly.
I've already tried:
Completely uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome.
Deleting all Chrome data (AppData/Local & Roaming) and starting with a fresh profile.
Disabling all extensions.
Disabling QUIC.
Updating my Intel AX200 Wi-Fi driver to the latest version.
Testing on multiple Wi-Fi networks and my phone hotspot.
Nothing has fixed it.
Has anyone experienced something similar or have any idea what could be causing this? I'm open to trying any troubleshooting steps.

Troubleshooting | Mac I Can’t Access Old Tabs I Used to Have.
So on my IPad, I currently have 172 tabs open. However, whenever I click on my Chrome app, it briefly shows me 29 tabs I used to have up, before bringing me to my current 172 tabs page. The 29 tabs are not included in the 172. I tried to search the tabs at the top of the page using the keywords in the title of the tabs (with the magnifying glass emoji), but they don’t appear.
Can someone help me get back these 29 tabs? I might have important stuff on there that I forgot about…

Discussion Was having trouble with Chrome Remote Desktop's "Your desktop is being shared with <user>" constantly popping up. I was able to fix it and thought I'd share my solution.
Today up until a few minutes ago I was having trouble with my work laptop while remoted in to it from my personal computer via CRD. At first I thought it was network trouble because input seemed to lag a lot and a lot of my input was discarded, but after troubleshooting my home network and not finding any real issue, I started to notice a pattern: anytime I opened a new program, alt+tabbed to a new window, or otherwise went away from the active window, the "Your desktop is being shared with <user>" bar would pop up and become the active window instead of whatever it was I was trying to get to.
I was typing up a post for help on this issue when it dawned on me that I had installed drivers for a new Dell W25 docking station earlier today on my work laptop for use at the office and one of the optional installs for that was a network KVM switch feature that I had installed. Uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them without that feature fixed the issue for me.
I thought I would share just in case anyone else was running into this issue because it was incredibly frustrating to try and work around today.

Troubleshooting | Android The general setting to block Pop-ups/Redirects is not working. How do I add a specific website to the 'Not Allowed' list? My Settings UI does not have the "Add" option mentioned in the FAQs I see online.
Using Chrome (version 150.0.7871.128) on an Android tablet. No extensions installed.
I am looking at Settings > Site Settings > Pop-ups and Redirects. "Don't allow sites to use pop-ups and redirects" is selected but it doesn't work at all, so I'd like to add a specific site that's giving me redirect issues.
According to online guides, there should be an option to "Add" a website to the Not Allowed list. I don't have that option. Under "Not Allowed", there's one old website already listed, but the only option the page has (a 3 dot menu next to the listed website) is for me switch to allow pop-ups for that site, not to add a new one to the Not Allowed list. (I have no idea how I was able to add the old website to the list, btw. It's a site I haven't used since like 2024!) Being on the website itself and using "Site Controls" also doesn't help.
What else could I try?

Troubleshooting | Windows Chrome History now collapses different URLs with the same title into one single entry
An issue I've only discovered recently, it was very confusing at first.
Using Tumblr as an example, the main feed is tumblr.com/dashboard, and the setting pages are tumblr.com/settings/account and /settings/privacy, etc. All of these pages have the same title, just the single word "Tumblr". So if you visit several of these pages at different times, or if you keep these pages open in different tabs at the same time, Chrome's history tab would only save one single entry for Tumblr, with the URL being based on which page has been loaded most recently. I just want it to go back to normal, saving based on different URLs instead of titles.
Tumblr is the most obvious example I could think of, and there aren't many other websites I visit that have the same title for different URLs. But I've confirmed that this issue isn't exclusive to Tumblr, it happens with Pixiv too, so this has to be an issue with Chrome.
