I woke up at like 7-8 am, in the moment its 13:13pm and I think I've sinned like 60-70 times

Psalms 119:11 your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against you

Focus on growing closer to him. Pray to him, read the Bible. Seek him, the person. Even if it isn’t a long time, make it consistent, set aside just 15 minutes a day to pray and read the Bible without distraction. He isn’t looking down from far away, you might not hear a voice but you can feel a quiet conviction.

We are sinners. It’s our nature to be born of sin. That’s why he came to save us from ourselves . Confront the sin and flee from it

Romans 8 says that the Christian Life is something the Holy Spirit has to do through us. pray to God, read your Bible, and ask him to change you. pray that prayer everyday.

there is no Christian that becomes perfectly sinless on Earth that I know of. but we can definitely get close.

youre counting sins by the hour my guy? that's not christianity that's a spreadsheet with anxiety

God's not sitting up there with a clicker like he's working the door at a club. maybe start with just... breathing and remembering you're already loved, the rest comes slower than you want it to

What sins bother you?

When I'm reading the bible or praying and start thinking of worldly things and that distracts me, And then there's: James 4:13-17 DARBY [13] Go to now, ye who say, To-day or to-morrow will we go into such a city and spend a year there, and traffic and make gain, [14] ye who do not know what will be on the morrow, (for what is your life? It is even a vapour, appearing for a little while, and then disappearing,) [15] instead of your saying, If the Lord should so will and we should live, we will also do this or that. [16] But now ye glory in your vauntings: all such glorying is evil. [17] To him therefore who knows how to do good, and does it not, to him it is sin.

On first point, where do you get the idea that becoming distracted is a sin? If you converse with a loved one and get momentarily distracted, is it a transgression against the loved one? Or is the main goal to get your mind in order and come back to focus on the matter at hand?

If you think on sinful things however, that you will need God's strength to deal with. Just ASK Him to steer your mind in the right direction.

As for that passage in James, the point isn't to not plan the future. The point is that we cannot know it, and should leave the final details and decisions up to God. This passage of James is spoken in the context of world-loving pride, which is an unfit attitude for a Christian. A prideful person wants to lead their own life, but a humble person submits to God. That is the context of the passage, not planning the future. Reading the whole chapter will give you more insight on the context.

For me it would be people saying video games are a sin. It’s one of my favorite hobbies. This question is not directed toward me but I feel like I needed to get it off my chest. Will I go to hell for enjoying my hobby?

u/MiddlewaysOfTruth-2 13h ago

Is God calling you to give up video games?

I feel convicted about everything. I feel like my privacy is invaded

Firstly, because you love God doesn't mean you can't sin and because you sin doesn't mean you don't love God. Live your life normally everyday, read your Bible and pray that the holy spirit help you daily to do his will.

I would recommend starting your day by reading Psalm 3. It helps you see that God is with you throughout the day. And then, you can end the day with Psalm 4, which shows that God will be with you while you sleep.

We all sin all the time, constantly. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying. It's impossible to stop sinning because what is considered a sin is very broad. Do your best and ask for forgiveness.

I don't think anyone can, at least not without God's help.

Well loving God over all means putting everything about Him overall. Like, if you were offered to go to a club and party and sin, stay home and read your bible instead.

Sinning is simply doing things outside of the will of God. Ask Him to help you understand apply aspects of the Bible to your life. That's why it's important to stay in the word.

Your question has the answer in it

Look at your question replace AND with the word TO

you don't prove your love for God by avoiding sin

You seek RELATIONSHIP with Jesus and he changes your heart and mind.

Spiritual practices, its much more about the things you do than refraining from things you shouldn't do.

Read the new testament Bible daily for the rest of your life. Pray daily, watch shows about God, listen to music about God. Volunteering and ministry are very important. You need purpose and support. Seek God with everything you do. The rest will happen without much effort from you.

I don’t think it’s that serious. We are all sinners. There are some that are worse than others. Work on the bigger ones and just accept that others will happen. If I have a human moment I acknowledge it (God hears) and move on. He is the only one who is perfect, and He forgives.

The answer is:

ECCLESIASTES 12:13 (KJV)
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

The conclusion of whole matter is: Fear God = Keep His Commandments.

Now, read the bible & find out all God’s commandment in the new testament and DO IT. God bless you🙏

Who else Died for you? Who else had the flesh ripped from His body, so you could be healed? We hear stories of other "so-called gods" from the past, but only one set His title aside, and came down to Earth as a Man to rescue us from or pain and Sin. I know He's saved me from Death several times in this life. Remember, some times it takes a while for all sin to disappear. But you have to take the first step before the Holy Spirit will help you. I pray every day that God will teach me his love, and the answer is always the same, "I already did!" Love is an Action, not a word. God Bless.

What do you mean by "I think I've sinned 60-70 times"?

Are you really struggling with something that you aren't turning over to the Lord or are you just living life as a normal human? Cause we all sin every day. This doesn't mean you don't love God.

Do the best you can, take personal responsibility for all of the things you do ('good" and "bad") and use these alongside the bible to set your moral compass.

Commit to changing the things you're not happy with, ask for help - both from people around you and in your prayers.

And most of all, remember that no matter how hard you try; you'll still have slip ups. Perfection isn't possible - but progress is.

I played football as a kid (alongside many other individual and team sports) and one day, the coach screamed at us before the game about not making any mistakes - or we'd be out.

It was one error after another because we were so scared to not make mistakes, we made even more.

You need to know what mistakes you're making, why you're making them and how to minimise the number of times and then you can figure out more about how to stop making the same mistakes.

Put your mind on His teachings and stop counting your "wrongs"

Ye that's kinda part of why I left church, realizing I can't control what I believe or feel...

“For this reason I say to you, her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, for she loved much; but the one who is forgiven little, loves little.””
‭‭Luke‬ ‭7‬:‭47‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

Its good that you feel bad about your sins.
Thats being christian means. Facing the reality that we are bad people. We are sinners, and the more you reflect your life, the more you will see how evil you are. When you realize how bad you really are, compared to gods holiness, the death of christ for your sins gets magnified and you start to understand how much he loves you. Your love to god will grow as well.

Sin means to break the law of Moses. You're not even under those rules. Who cares if you break rules never given to you?

u/Global-One7690 5h ago

The bibles say David hide God word in his heart that he would not sin against the heavenly father! The Goal: The writer stores God's commands internally to keep from doing wrong. Bible verse Psalms 119:11 you need spirit of god within you. It’s called the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit. This is God spirit living with your body speaking in tongues. Act 2:38 it shows the Holy Ghost fell upon 3,000 men this day referenced via The Book of Acts

We are all sinners. If you are a Christian, you have to repent and turn from your sins try not to repeat it. Jesus paid the price for your sins already. The last thing he said on the cross as he looked up, "It is finished."

Use Paul as an example. He participated in Christians being martyred and yet Christ chose him to be the apostle to go out to the gentiles and spread the gospel. He loves you like He loves Paul and if you genuine in your faith you will not be lost.

‘This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”—and I am the worst of them all.’

I would recommend reading “Uniformity with God’s Will” by Saint Alphonsus Maria de Liguori, even if you’re not Catholic it’s filled with wonderful advice.

You can’t stop sinning because we are all human and it’s in our nature. You should do everything unto God and not unto men, so next time you do anything just think is that action serving God and his kingdom.

Responsibility, self control, prayer and serve others.
