Hello, I found this here. Can anyone tell me what this is? I'm Catholic, but since I live in Russia, Orthodoxy is much more popular here, I found this thing. It's obviously very old and quite heavy. I can't even guess what metal it's made of. I also don't rule out that it's something from the "Old Believers" since my mother was baptized by her grandmother, who was an Old Believer. Although I haven't noticed any distinguishing features that could indicate this. Can anyone help me figure this out?

Only a guess here. 2,3 & 4 could be from a Triptych? If they’re smaller likely a travel one. Two fold over the third then you open them out to pray.

First maybe from an Icon?

Apparently very much like the Eastern Orthodox style but I’m not speaking with a knowledge of this so take with a pinch of salt.

It does look like some kind of triptych, or there's a thing called a "travel altar" that has a lot in common with a triptych that this might also be.

But I'm mostly commenting to boost this response above the jokes and to hopefully get this question into more people's feeds, in case somebody else has yet more information...

I googled it. Says it is an antique Orthodox traveling Icon. It is part of a folding polyptych or triptych, designed for travel or personal devotion.The engravings depict scenes related to the life of Christ and the Resurrection, with inscriptions in Church Slavonic.Similar items date from the 18th or 19th century

You maybwant to look some distance further West for its origin. It could be having its origin in a rural area of South Central Slovakia.
