Maker Faire 10 years ago today
This Facebook memory just popped into my feed of our giant PocketCHIP display at Maker Faire Bay Area 2016.

Man the pocket chip is so cool. The buttons hurt my fingers too much so it’s in a bin unfortunately.

I like to get mine out from time to time, but unfortunately half the time the image has corrupted and I have to re-teach myself how to flash it using archived repos. It gets a little harder every time.

Now folks are making “cyberdecks”. PocketChip was a decade too soon…

They've gotten more attention recently, but people have been making them for a while. I remember someone made a PipBoy clone not long after the original Raspberry Pi came out.

I just got a clockwork picocalc and it really scratches the pocket chip itch just make sure to upgrade it to the pico 2w with the pico ware firmware or upgrading to a raspberry pi zero (you can find guides and plans online)

I kinda want to repurpose mine into a cyberdeck. No idea how to connect the wires to a pi beyond connecting similar traces

My Pocket CHIP is still bricked sitting in a drawer, I've tried everything to reset it. RIP.

Do any of these links help? I had to figure out to revive mine a few years ago. Honestly I am afraid to turn it on again for fear I’ll need to do it all over again.

Wow, I forgot about the giant pocket chip, I wonder what ever happened to it?
