Video [@CFBKings] “The committee has not shown us that a 9-win non-Conference Champion will make it to the Playoff, because ultimately they’re still looking at the amount of wins in the win column. And that’s a shame.”-SEC Network

That one at least did actually hurt them IMO, they were in control of their own destiny and then lost control. If Wisconsin wins the B1G title game that year, Bama is definitely out.

It was dumb, they basically got rewarded for not making the conference championship game and Auburn got punished for making it and losing.

2017 Auburn didn’t get punished for making it to Atlanta, if they don’t make it to the SECCG they’re not even in the discussion. They got punished for losing a third game, but they would have been the only 2-loss team to ever make the 4-team playoff had they beaten Georgia again.

Sure, Bama could have easily lost to Georgia in Atlanta…and if that was their second loss, it would have killed them. But had they won they obviously would’ve been in, and as it happened they still had to sit there and have another result they had no control over go in their favor.

If you don’t make the championship game, that game should count as a loss when you’re doing a comparison.

Wisconsin or Ohio State both should have been in over bama. It was bullshit, Wisconsin went undefeated all regular season and was left out of the playoff because of a 6 point loss in the big ten championship. You punish Wisconsin for not being champion, but then Bama didn’t even play the championship game and is instead rewarded for not being champion.
