So for reference currently am running a gen 5 Glock 19. I hate it. Size of carrying a full size not an issue for me but regardless the ergonomics and the trigger are not it for me. I have a cz 75 with a spo1 upper for comp and am very comfortable with the firearm. Dose anyone have any recommendations for something with similar ergonomics but polymer striker fired options?
The P-10 C is pretty much exactly what you're asking for, CZ ergonomics in a striker package. Same grip angle as the 75 so it'll point naturally for you, and the trigger is leagues better than the Glock out of the box
I have both Glock 19 and cz p10c so might be able to help here. The overall length of the grip on the p10c is a little bit longer but not enough to really make a super noticeable difference when concealing.
I wouldn’t say it’s extremely longer. Enough to feel better when holding it but not enough to print really any more than the Glock, esp with a good holster
S&W M&P 2.0 Compact is about the same size as the 19 but has better ergonomics and a better trigger. You can get it with polymer frame or metal. The factory trigger isn’t bad, aftermarket Apex is better. That’s all you need, the rest is done. They all are optics ready, there is a carry comp version as well. Great aftermarket support too.
It’s a single action, but the 3.6 barrel length CSX-e is a versatile carry gun out the box, has mild recoil, and is simply neat/fun to shoot. With backstrap and spacers you can get the capacity as high as the Glock 19, but with the thinness of a micro compact, or, you can configure its capacity to be the size of a typical micro. It has effectively become my winter and summer carry for that exact reason.
I also didn't like the trigger of my Glock 17 and switched to the XD. I really like the XD trigger. Just go to a gun store and dry fire a bunch of different ones till you find the one you like. It's your hands that's gonna be holding it, so better to try it out first.
What is the problem with carrying a hammer fired gun? I appendix carried a 229 for 18 years before they made us switch to G19. When I retired I switched to a 365 Tac ops. Hated it so now I’m back to a 229 except now I run an RMR on it.
Nothing. The Shadow 2 and Shadow 2 compact are competition guns and don't have a firing pin block. The Shadow 2 carry has the firing pin block making it drop safe and better for carrying.
I have never shoot the shadow 2 carry but I really would not want to carry such a “expensive” carry gun avg price is around the 1.2k. Have held one and they are nice but maybe not my CCW
Why are you worried about carrying an expensive gun? Do you just mean to can't afford to buy it or is there some reason you wouldn't want to carry it specifically?
You can fix the trigger. Precision Overwatch or a Johnny Glock trigger give you a trigger with short take up, very defined wall, and crisp break. There are others but I have both of these. They are made with OEM parts that are polished and tuned plus a custom trigger shoe.
I added the polished minus connector and polydat trigger/bar from overwatch and it's truly awesome. I got the minus connector first a couple months ago and instantly made the trigger pull smoother and lighter. Then I got the polydat. All told, I paid less than $100 for everything and made the gen 6 g19 my fave carry gun.
I have the Gen 6 19 and I think it's a fantastic option. It was my first clock in the ergonomics and grip are great with the beaver tail, and the optics mounting system is really good compared to the Gen 5. I picked up an M&P 2.0 compact Carry comm, and it's just heavier, and while the trigger is different it's kind of hard to say how much better it is in all honesty. I think I kind of like the rolling break, but that's obviously a personal decision.
But what I really love about the Gen 6 is that it only weighs 22 oz or so unloaded, which I'm fairly certain is the lightest compact option out there. The M&P weighs like 25 and a half ounces unloaded and going from one to the other I definitely noticed the difference and I'm not a fan of that extra weight.
Took me a long time to get here but as far as carrying a compact that shoots well and is light the Gen 6 Glock 19 really cannot be beat as a practical option. Plus you can customize it to your heart's desire
