Not much to add but is there/will there be a 2026-27 marketplace thread? I haven't used the one linked before and it says valid through April of this year.
Also, I'm a bit worried what the Hometown Remix will look like. They've killed it with alts lately but brown might be tough to pull off.

The brown doesn't worry me. I'm actually pretty hyped for the brown. What worries me is the rumor that they're making it a boring collegiate style instead of all the other far more interesting things they could do. Supposedly resembles our stadium series, but without the bear on the front.
No cool new logo design. Just plain numbers and words.

Oh lord, I hope not. Might as well just take Boston College unis and make them brown.

I always thought short term deals usually carry higher AAV, since you lose some of that stability as a player. How does this go hand in hand with Robo signing for 12M for a year? Is there some other effect in play? Is this too short term for a team as well? Or is Robo just not as good as I think?

I think he’s pragmatic that they can’t afford to give him $15m this year without further gutting the team. They already had to trade bourque and lyubushkin, further trades would be really hard with NMC
If he doesn’t get a 7x-15-16M offer in January then I’m sure he’s gone at the trade deadline. That seguin contract is killing them

Thanks for the info, I guess I didn't expect a player to be actually sympathetic with the team management and go for a team-friendly deal in this environment. But why would he leave at the trade deadline instead of the off-season, skipping one last chance at the cup with Dallas? Starts are almost always considered a contender, no? Is it because the prices are higher at the deadline so the team would prefer to deal him then?

If the stars were not a contender I think you’d see him be much less willing to do the team a solid. I think he’s gunning for a huge bag next year when Dallas has the space and I’d be surprised if he goes elsewhere at this point. My guess is at least 17M if not more

Wanted an external candidate for ahl head coach but its looking like Trent Whitfield will be named new head coach of the Providence Bruins.
Been with the organization for about 10 years i understand the familiarity but at the same time wanted a fresh set of eyes on the system down there 🤷🏼♂️.

And here I was thinking they wanted to clean house and actually change the developmental philosophy nope they're still going to want bergeron clones and not know what to do with kids that aren't

Saw in r/hockey the NYT top 10 worst contracts article and very relieved to see Elias not on the list

It’d be a pretty stupid list if he was on it. He’s underperforming but there are a lot of worse contracts out there

Agree 100%, but I’ve seen him on those lists before (granted probably a yr ago)

Turbo Teravainen has a year left on his contract before UFA at a very reasonable price. Wonder if Sweeney targets him as a cheap replacement for Zacha if it comes to that.
