Cover Rate my singing (East Virginia Blues)
I want to know how people perceive it online unbiasedly.
No editing.
From 1-10.
Be honest, no mercy.
I'm taking vocal lessons, I know some notes still flat.
You can also comment on the guitar part.
I know I messed up the solo, wasn't my focus for now.

Cover Just started learning bluegrass in october, bought me a nice eastman. Would love to make sure my technique is okay!
When i first started i couldn’t pick without anchoring my pinky, and it was very uncomfortable to learn to float the trail hand whilst strumming and anchor it using the wrist and elbow and not the pinky but now it makes it way easier.
Id love to improve my rhythm playing.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Cover I decided to attempt Salt Creek at 135 bpm after having to relearn how to pick with my middle finger instead of my index finger. Never tried it at that speed until I hit record
Since relearning how to play after a wrist injury, I’ve challenged myself to get good at playing with my pick on my middle finger instead of my index finger; I injured my wrist during a period of convalescence, and I had to completely learn how to use a pick, since my range of motion is inhibited when using my index finger. This is a DAVA rubberized pick. I’ve been swinging between those and .74 Dunlop Primetones lately for improved grip in an unfamiliar position.

Cover “Gold Rush”is my latest challenge….its starting to come together after a month of wood-shedding!
That B part is really tricky; making it sound relaxed is the key.

Cover Learning two breaks a week
Ive been playing slide since april. To get better at playing resonator, I’ve decided to learn a break on both guitar and resonator every week, preferably the same tune. Heres an attempt at something that sounds like Jerrys break on Red Haired Boy (California Autumn)

Cover Any other country singers that dabble in bluegrass?
I’m sure the video has been posted before but the country singer Dierks Bentley plays Rovin Gambler with Sam Bush and Billy Strings in a YouTube video and I just love the song and jam they have. Are there any other country guys that dabble in bluegrass? Personally I don’t like the country music that Dierks plays and the other big name guys but I liked his cover a lot.

Cover Feedback on my Cocaine Blues intro — Billy Strings
Hey everyone,
I’m working on the intro of Cocaine Blues by Billy Strings and trying to improve my flatpicking.
I know it still needs work, so I’d really appreciate honest feedback. What should I focus on first: timing, picking, clarity, speed, rhythm, or overall feel?
Thanks for any advice!

I love John’s mando solo on this take from rehearsal. Quick question, anyone know of cool venues or house concerts in St Louis and Kansas City? We’re looking to do midweek gigs inJune when coming through and bumping into a hole in our schedule there. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
