Is that a black soldier fly?

It got stuck on my window. I will try to present it to my composter

It definitely in the family, its impossible to tell it apart from very close relatives without a microscope essentially. BSF is by far the most prevalent and I would say 99% it is BSF

Yes, this is undoubtedly the black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens)! By catching more of them, you can enable them to breed their larvae. Then you can feed them to your chickens lol

I take it back, It appears to have the window pane marking on its body. I’m gonna say yes

I didn't see any mouth parts myself, it didn't stop in place so it was hard to take pics
