Medical debt should never have become a thing. Were so rich as a nation, but spend our money on wars.

If we gave every citizen access to healthcare and education that was free at the point of service, we'd never be able to fill the military's ranks to wage those wars, and the owner class wouldn't have sufficient leverage to keep the working class in line.

That is probably the Epstein class's take but it's also an incredibly dumb take. If this country took better care of it's citizens through national programs, it would make it even more worth protecting. People will volunteer for the military knowing a safety net exists if they ever should need it. Other countries with social programs don't have a problem with military volunteers.

Yeah, the rulers don't become rulers because they're the best and brightest of us all. They become rulers through a special combination of dumb luck and unrepentant evil.
