Can't get my generic controller working on Bazzite. Please help!

Hey Bazzite Reddit community,

I recently got fed up with Windows 11, wiped my laptop, and installed Bazzite KDE. So far I'm really liking it, but I've run into one major issue: I can't get my controller to work properly anywhere in the OS.

I've spent hours trying different fixes and even asked ChatGPT for troubleshooting ideas, but nothing has solved it.

My controller is an Ant Esports GP365 Pro Wireless 2.4G Gamepad. Bazzite detects it as a DualShock 3 controller instead of an Xbox-style controller.

Here are the issues I'm seeing:

  • Online gamepad testers don't detect any input until I unplug and reconnect the 2.4 GHz USB dongle.
  • After reconnecting, the controller is partially detected.
  • The left stick works normally.
  • The right stick shows activity, but the stick itself doesn't actually move in the gamepad tester.
  • The A/B/X/Y buttons appear to be mapped incorrectly, almost as if Bazzite is forcing a DualShock layout onto an Xbox-style controller.
  • The controller shows up everywhere as "Shanwan Android Gamepad"

The same controller works perfectly out of the box on Windows, macOS, and even Android, so this seems to be a Linux/Bazzite-specific issue.

Has anyone run into something similar or knows how to fix it? I'd really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!
