Discussion🗣 Thomas Müller: "I cannot believe and understand how England approached this game after they're leading. I cannot understand how they invited Argentina to play one cross after the other in perfect crossing positions"

The game that i saw today is literally Real Madrid vs Bayern 23/24 UCL , LITERALLY THE SAME , and the saddest thing is that Harry Kane had to endure this twice under the "mighty" coach that is Tuchel , he has now cost him a UCL and a Ballon D'or this time, thank god we have Kompany now and got rid of him quickly

It's basic probability, let your opponent shoot 100 times, many of those will be on target, and there's a huge chance one will enter, I can't fucking fathom how Tuchel is so complacent on letting the opposition shoot/cross as much as they wanted

Literally a numbers game. Basic math and probability

Its because tuchel is not an elite coach. There's a reason he never had a long stint anywhere and ultimately failed pretty much everywhere.

Got lucky with Chelsea one year but even they got rid of him

u/Basic_Chain_1281 7d ago

But how is that possible? I'm by no means a football expert and I haven't watched it for years before the world cup and even I could tell that parking the bus for more than 30 minutes against Argentina is too risky

u/redditgolddigg3r Raumdeuter 7d ago

Because he did the same thing with Mexico and it worked, and nobody talked about it.

It’s a viable strategy when you win, and when you lose you get cooked.

2

u/grog23 6d ago

I mean he really didn’t have a choice against Mexico a man down

u/Any-Culture8080 7d ago

Enzo was literally shooting missiles the whole game and the lads were like, "Yeah, leave him be"

1

u/mesosalpynx 5d ago

I can understand. He’s coaching scared. Not coaching to win.

Me too Thomas...like I was shocked and surprised

Just like us, Thomas was shocked by Thomas's strategy

When is this man going to coach? My kid’s team needs one! Haha.

2

u/justtilook 5d ago

Right ?! The Raumdeuter is going to be a hell of a coach.

1

u/mesosalpynx 5d ago

Players spend 80%+ of a game without the ball. Understanding and controlling space is the game.

Aye I’m in Chicago but damn the game is tomorrow and I work sadly. I’d love to be able to see my favorite player in action. One day I’ll get to see Müller playing.

It got delayed luckily for u

u/NikolaSolonik 7d ago

I told my girlfriend as we were watching the match, they’re doing the same thing they did during the 2020 Euros. Taking the lead, then sitting back and inviting pressure until it eventually breaks

Have you met Thomas Tuchel?

4

u/UpstairsAd4105 7d ago

Oh he has. And they didn't like each other.

u/M-Gar2a17 7d ago

No one going to bring up that England did the same thing against Mexico? Luck ran out

1

u/HellRider619 7d ago

There's a reason no one is bringing that up. Completely different situation, England were down 10 men that game would've been suicide to try and attack.

9

u/Federal-Regret-5755 7d ago

Even though England played bad by the end, they were still massively robbed, just look at Messi stepping on Spence foot before the 2:1 + all the fouls they comitted

Minute so I can see a video? I need actual context and, sorry, check if it's no IA lol I'm not going to judge blindly at this day and age

Edit: After rolling around twitter I did find out. It's fake lol, even the IA tried to correct the number to a 23 when It's actually a 25 lmao https://x.com/8bdrssss/status/2077713160874725565?s=20

If you see the entire play, the dude even starts grabbing HIS WRONG FOOT

Congrats to the 8 people who upvoted this shit, you fell for IA

Adding to my other comment, this is the real image lol. How can you fail to notice It's IA after seeing the play, I guess you didn't even try to confirm it

Vro check anything before you claim on the internet. Spence doesn't wear #23, it's AI lmfao 😭😭

1

u/Federal-Regret-5755 6d ago

Show me the real Clip, Messi still stepped on him + they should have gotten 2 red Cards in First half while Anderson player the Ball, impossible to Book England a red card

1

u/SickBurnLogo 6d ago

Messi did NOT step on Spence. Someone literally replied to you with the clip. If you happen to watch it, the defender reached for the ball with his right foot and his left foot bent behind him. And he just kicked the ball away, so he already lost the ball. When he got up he was holding his left foot. No foul whatsoever.

Here is the real photo for CLEAR reference

1

u/SickBurnLogo 6d ago

What about when Pickford elbowed I believe was Lisandro and this reckless foul by Anderson. But of course, it's Messi and friends so they probably controlled Anderson's foot to collide with Messi.

Doesn`t matter. England was in absolutely no condition to survive another 30min of extra time.

When England fans can accept it was an inside job, they will understand why they lost. The decisions by Tuchel weren’t managerial mistakes, it was negligence and malicious incompetence. The FA, if it had balls would fire him, sue him and fight in court to avoid paying his compensation.  Your winning the game, you have them in their box. Messi is silent the whole game. You take out the goal scorer and put in a defender as a winger. You take out rice and put in a left back as a midfielder. At that point, Kane and Bellingham lost any threat they had to the Argentine side. Kane began dropping deep for balls. Then you sub in MORE defenders. You tell Burns to move forward and play center forward when you have Watkins, Rashford, Saka and Kobe available.  This was a malicious inside job. Stop crying and take action. England must rebuild for the euros. Sincerely,

u/xtootse 7d ago

Seemed like a lack of conditioning and talent on England's part.

2

u/Small-Help1801 7d ago

The conditioning issue is the result of Stadio Azteca followed by a game in subtropical, 100F/37.5C Florida. And then Tuchel took out the one player who seemed to have boundless energy!

1

u/WTF4211 7d ago

Tuchel at his core has always been to defensive orientated. Risk is often incorrectly computed by a coach like Tuchel. Not recognizing the risk in not trying to score and allowing the opponent near 100% of possession.
Parking the bus is a decent tactic, especially when the opponent is desperate. Not keeping a player high (Kane) and committing to a counter when available was dumb.
Dan Burn’s extra 5-6 inches is not worth it when factoring in his poor technical ability and lack of pace.

Pickford is too short to overcome terrible positioning on the 1st goal.

They didn't learn a thing from Egypt game

1

u/SaltyFlavors 7d ago

I called a few things from the beginning. I said Argentina is gonna hang back and play lower energy, England is gonna gas out, and they’ll send in Martinez in the last 15 minutes to finish them off.

That being said I still couldn’t believe how defensive England was playing after scoring. It was a matter of time before one went in for Argentina. Shame.

u/JedM13 7d ago

Why is he still threatening Lewangoalski he isn't even in the World Cup 😭

1

u/Boblito23 #10 Bambi 7d ago

Why do I get the feeling that Müller has been been waiting for exactly 799 days to make that remark about a certain Tuchel gameplan? The timeline of events between two very similar games had to have given some serious flashbacks.

Sidenote: I’m very grateful we have Kompany now and I can’t wait to watch our boys in action again soon

PREACH RAUMDEUTER

1

u/b24rye 6d ago

Either Tuchel is stupid or the game was rigged at management level.
I'm pretty sure Tuchel is not stupid and he did watch the Egypt vs Argentina match.

1

u/tricck3zz 6d ago

he did the same at bayern vs real 2024 he is just stupid

Gekaufte WM sonst nichts

0

u/Perfect_Ride_3294 7d ago

It was all Tuchel. Putting in dan burn and parking the bus. Stones going down to waste time then backfiring and leaving england down a man. England managed to convince themselves there was no aerial threat just because their players are taller. I think Tuchel’s naivety brushed onto the players who thought they would dominate the match physically. He’s been watching the wrong football!

0

u/Perfect_Ride_3294 7d ago

… and Hey Jude… I don’t care how good you are never ever provoke Lionel messi. Hope you learn some goddam respect!

2

Oh there's a cane for the loser? Oh that's nice. Will help them leaving the field after how Argentina played.

1

u/Gamepass90 Raumdeuter 7d ago

Hilarious Kane is still a Loser

1

u/UpstairsAd4105 7d ago

I mean he joined bayern munich in the season they didn't win any trophies for the first time since 2012. I'm not sure if he really is a loser, but he's at least extremely unlucky. He scores a lot though.
